Taipan Veteran Help

Hi all,

Recently got a Taipan Veteran, which I absolutely love, but it decided to stop cocking yesterday.

I opened up the trigger/firing assembly and played with some of the set screws to get it sorted out. I believe it's the shear tensioner set screw thats the source of my issues. Unfortunately, I stripped that set screw when trying to loosen it with a 5/64 hex key.

I will now be attempting to "easy out" that set screw. Does anyone know what the thread pitch, length, hex head or any other relevant details on that set screw is?

You may be able to take that set screw to a local hardware store and find a replacement. I've been surprised what my local HWS's will carry, and have found some pretty small set screws for shrouds, etc.

False alarm - got a 2.0mm hex screw and found that the set screw wasn't stripped. 

I cleaned the threads off with the thread locker that it had covered on it, and made the proper adjustments to enable the gun to cock again!

The set screw is m4 x 0.7 if anyone needs to know.

Glad you worked it out, I recently got a veteran std. and there is not much information out there on the gun. I will be doing some surfing on info.

Thanks! Now that I got that fixed my Nomad II decided to self destruct, and I Brocock Bantam that won't take a fill (not that I have a way to fill it now anyways).

I'm getting really frustrated with the quality of airguns and airgun components/accessories right now. Not near as reliable as their PB counterparts.
