Taipan Veteran Magazines

Greetings fellow airheads

I received a previously owned .22 Vet shorty recently and noticed some differences between the magazines.

Notice the raised bump on the left mag. I am wondering what is the correct shape? Has one of these mags been altered?

Perhaps the Taipan Vet owners among us could comment on what their magazines look like.

Any help much appreciated ✌️

Matt

My veteran shorty has both mags like the one on the left, with the dimple.

Funny my tune is 867fps (Average) with Ed's 18 grain JSB's for 50 shots. I have the Tatsu and power adjuster as well. Shows how consistent these taipans are. Funny, I emailed R&L to ask when next shipment might be in for the out of stock shory. Matt didn't know, but mentioned the one you have now. I waited over the weekend and passed on the last day as I committed to one here instead. I forgot to ask Matt what color it was but preferred brown and that is what I ended up with. If you prefer black then it worked out great for the both of us. One last funny is I kinda knew they were going to get a shipment in or around September but couldn't wait as it was my birthday gift to myself.

One last note is the stock is great and really light. Reasons are, I thought I could knock some weight off it if I needed to via the stock but after separating the action and stock it was obviously not worth it as I was holding a feather. I often walk with my hand (three fingers, too small for pinky) in the cutout with the barrel to the ground and bipod folded. It is like walking with a 5 gallon bucket using the handle... virtually no strain, very comfortable. I looked over other bullpups after doing this and no other type would offer such a hold with their stock design so again, great stock just wish it was walnut.

Both magazines came with the gun? Don't have a Vet .22 but my Mutant .22 mags look like the one on the right

The gun came with two mags like the one on the left with the small raised diameter and one brand new mag which is the one on the right with the flat face.

Cooking up something special in the Magholder Laboratory. Need to know as much as I can 😉
