Taipan VL .25 ... 52 yards ... ground squirrel

I shot him and he fell into the water and had to fetch him out from underneath the log.

Sunny day waiting for squirrels eating Altoid Wintergreen mints and surfing the web.

Brought the compressor and the generator and they both fit nicely in the back seat and I pumped up my gun after shooting a bunch of targets.

Using the new bugbuster scope that I got for 80 bucks and I absolutely love that thing.

Johnny, super shot! How nice to be able to air up in your vehicle with a compressor! Woo Hoo! Nice photos, thanks for sharing!

Wish you were here. No taking turns at limited targets but fun racing to see who gets it first.

Your RAW would give them the smackdown and perhaps comparable in size to that 16" Rattus you got recently. They are a wee bit chubby and they make a great pellet backboard sound regardless of a head or body shot. I think they prefer .25

JohnnyPDX,

Wow, let me get this straight.... "It was a sunny day and you were waiting for the squirrels eating Altoid Wintergreen Mints and surfing the web" ???

In my neck of the woods the squirrels prefer Cinnamon Altoids, and there is no internet service.

Great equipment, even better marksmanship and most of all your interesting posts, very creative.

Be safe, heathy and good pesting.

JohnnyPDX,

Very good tip about being patient and glassing for those ground rats. I will try it once it warms up and they become active. They have caused a lot of damage around my property and I appreciate your valued experience.

I have logs piled up and and stacks of split firewood, both magnets for those critters. I also have what I think are roof rats living in the firewood. I hunt them from a semi-concealed hide with my marauder and ATN X scope. I recently tried a green LED flashlight mounted on a tripod, I read you use a red LED over your bait station. So I borrowed another tip from you except for the color, seems to work OK as long as the light remains steady.

Continued good luck,

Cool Man. Red or green light it doesn't matter and I've done both successfully but currently using red. The logs and split and split firewood sound awesome and they have a lot of comfort there giving us time to get a good shot.

I envy you on glass selection and covet the ATN!!!

Ranchibi is the guy that got me setup with red light AND a doorbell camera with alerts. What a difference that made. I LOVE killing rats.

Ditto on"Continued good luck,",

Peace

JohnnyPDX,

It is my personal best rainbow, caught while trolling at Bass Lake which is just south of Yosemite. I had it in my net 2 times and it managed to jump out, fishing by myself that day, steering the boat in the wind and biggest problem being old. The fish finally gave up and let me net it. Usually my wife and I fish together and she catches more and larger fish just to keep me humble.

Have fun, be healthy and safe,

Flintsack,

If you are asking about the trout's tail, my best guess is it was a hatchery fish and the tail deformity was caused by swimming in the hatchery environment.

I must apologize to JohnnyPDX for getting off subject in his Taipan VL / Ground Squirrel post. Mike if you want to talk fish we probably should try and do it by PM.

Good pesting, stay healthy and safe,

Hi Guys. DEFINITELY TALK FISHING IN MY POSTS!!!!!!

I love fishing. Running a boat solo in the wind with a nice fish on, tough. My wife gets put onto the best spots, my intention, so she can slay 'em. I want her to score more, bigger and most.
