The Sheridan model B may be the most sought after American made airgun of them all. I’m not sure what a nice one would bring right now, I know I wouldn’t even consider selling mine for less than $3000.
The model A, the first model made by Sheridan, was a no compromise rifle. Everything absolutely top of the line. It was too expensive to sell.
To sit along side the model A super grade, they came out with a slightly lesser priced model B sporter grade. Only 1000 were made, making it very rare from the very beginning.
Other than to check the fact that it still holds air, I really haven’t shot my B very much.
There was a chipmunk hanging out near the 100 yard target holder. The first one I’ve seen all year. So I started carrying the model B with me when I went to check targets.
Beforehand I took a few shots to check accuracy. This was out about 25 yards off hand. As you can see the three shots went slightly to the right, I was holding on the neck.
As we started walking up towards the target, Penny went on point.
I brought the B to my shoulder, held on the left edge of the throat, and the rifle went off. The chipmunk literally was flipped backwards off its feet. You can see where it landed.
The trigger on this rifle is a wonderful two stage. It did it’s job.
This is exactly the mission that the rifle was originally designed for, eliminating vermin effectively. Mission accomplished 70 years later.
What a wonderfully built and designed rifle
