Talk to me about the FX Boss .30cal***update***

I think you'd do yourself a favor likely going with the Boss over the Crown in .30. Very dependable platform.

Do you know if the barrels are interchangeable?

With the right parts and a bit of work you can change calibers on a Boss. Or use a STX system on a Boss.

Here's mine with an unchoked German made LW polygon I had turned to fit.

Above it is a modified STX assembly in 600mm that will work in .22/.25/.30 with the right liner lock/stainless connector/brass inlet, then this extender I had made up so it'll take 700mm liners also.

It's been shot a tonne but never in .30 haha.

Wow that is some gorgeous wood, except for the forend where they screwed it up with that etching. I would be tempted to rand that out and refinish that stock if it was mine.

I'm ok with it, I don't peel the emblems off my vehicles either.

Not sure but both my 30 FX Bobcat (same action as Royal/Boss) and Boss rifle shoot so ridiculously accurate with 44gr JSBs hadn't even given any thought on replacing their barrels.

I have to agree with you Odoyle because I have the FX Bobcat and the FX Boss in .30 also. They're excellent shooting pcps and hard to beat for the money that you're willing to invest, you can't go wrong with the Boss because it is the "boss".

I totally agree the Boss being a hell of a .30 shooter....I will say I picked up a MK3 Wildcat sniper .30 with the 700mm barrel and it is now my most accurate .30 I own hands down...

It out shoots my .30 Crown as well as my DayState Wolverine .30 and my FX Boss....

I bought a .22 barrel kit for the MK3 thinking I would swap calibers but once I saw the accuracy of the .30 the barrel kit hit the classifieds.....This gun will not have a single screw turned as long as it keeps shooting as it is!!

Just my experience....

Stay Safe!

is the moderator on your boss the same as other FX rifles?

Well I called Utah Airguns this morning and the good news is that they had one Boss in stock. So I switched my order to the Boss .30. With scope and extra magazines it came out to about the same price and I should get it by the end of the week. The bad news is now I'm gunna be pickin' your brains on how to get the most out of it without redesigning it. Just wish they had a walnut stock for it.....
