Airforce Talon P Carbine .25

I recently purchased a Talon P carbine and was impressed enough with the Airforce platform to pick up an Escape SS .22 from the Outlet. Wish I had looked there before I got the Talon P.

I agree with everything the OP says.

I'm shooting 25 gr. JSB @ 919 fps out to 55 yds. with pretty good results, and I'm not a great shooter. JSB 34 gr. shot very well, just slower without changing the power setting. I elected the to go with the flatter trajectory @ 47 fpe, and not move the power wheel and drop below 10 shots. The Escape shoots 22 gr. JTS very well @924 fps. for 42 fpe. Ten full power shots from ~2800-2000 psi.

I did swap out the P moderator for a BR mod. It's a little longer, but 4 oz. lighter and pretty much equivalent sound-wise.

Is there a way to convert this to a 30 cal?
I think so. Talontunes has/had a .30 drop in kit for the Condor, but one would have to cut their 24" barrel down to 12" to fit the Talon-P format. Their biggie .30 top hat and valve fits the Ring-loc type bottles like on the Talon-P, and that little bottle should get maybe 8 powerful shots. As a guess I bet it would put out ~50-60 ft#.

I found a paintball bottle that was 100cc larger than the one that came on my Talon P. I had to buy an adaptor, but it worked well.

As for cutting down the barrel, I would try it at full length first. I would definitely not cut it down to the 12 inch legnth of the Talon P barrel if power is the goal.

The Airforce is 3000 max fill and I believe the Ma2 is 3600? And also do you prefer a Magazine over a single shot?
I do prefer a magazine. Only Con I have found with the ma2 is that ig the stock is wobbly on it. If the air force was magazine fed I would pick that one all day. But I’ve yet to see someone be unhappy with the talon p
