I decommissioned my 22 but still have the barrel. The 22 and the 20 calibers shoot absolutely fantastic. The 177 is a real close second and getting better. With PA's black friday deal it's real tempting.

Yes it could be done, this one has a 27" TJ 1-26 twist.. power is managed by a external regulator at 2,800psi it shoots 50gr at 980fps -- 106 fpe . AT preload 1 . Next month a new TJ 1-16 twist.. 30" long - .30 barrel would be here for some slug fun.

Personally , I thought it strictly refers to a semiautomatic rifle, like a ruger 10/22 is what I think of when I see the word. I thought the talon was a pistol that could be taken down from a carbine, and then set back up as one.
As for the Talon being single shot, that is disappointing, because when I thought it was semi auto my mind was blown regarding the rest of its specs. Ive never heard of a semi auto pistol with that kind of power. But I am not even a noob when it comes to airguns, I don't even have onew, I was looking at buying one and came here to find to take advantage of the knowledge base, which is considerable, and thats fitting because there is a considerable amount of options

yes it is. It's hard to find a reasonably priced PCP pistol especially if you are looking for semi auto, which is what I am looking for

I have both the .22 cal and the .25 cal barrels for my Escape UL. For hunting I use the .25 cal barrel shooting either the H&N 30.89 pellets or the Apolo 33 gn slugs from about 2300 psi down to about 1800 psi for about 10 shots @ ~60 fpe. (Hand pump friendly of course but I do have a compressor) I like the .22 cal barrel for target shooting and a few more shots per fill at about 45 fpe. It also likes the same ammo, H&N 21 gn pellets and Apolo 21 gn slugs. With the Sig Romeo red dot, the Escape UL weighs about 5 lbs and is the perfect small/medium game rifle for long woods walks IMHO! Sometimes swap the Sig sight with one of my Vector Optics 1-6 scopes if I want to shoot longer distances. I too have taken crow at 100 yards with this rifle so it can accurately reach out and touch something when necessary.
I have also owned Condors in both .22 and .25, but at my age now, the Escape UL is perfect for me...

How has the 22 been performing?
I have been looking at AF guns for years. The thread by Frank a few months ago, plus this one pushed me over the edge.
This is a Talon P 22 and I really like it.
It gives me 30 shots from 885 to 905 fps with 18 grain pellets. There is a really nice stretch of 20 shots in there that are all around 890-895.
This is with the .145 top hat.
Accuracy is good and yes it is hold sensitive. Very quiet with the super giant can.
If I put in the .123 top hat, I get 40+ shots at 20fpe. I should have bought one of these years ago.
I must resist a bigger heavier scope.
What do I need next? An 18” barrel? A Condor?

I thought they were super robust and I don't remember reading that before but my interest in AF is pretty recent so I might have missed that.
I'm slowly coming around to the single shot idea...

It's not like nothing can go wrong. I've read stories of airforce guns having regulators blow out. when filling mine for the first time this year mine blew out and hit me in the side of the face at about 2200 psi. wasn't a great experience, but didn't cost too much to fix. I bought a new guage from (I think airgun depot). It fit well, but didn't set up against the gun perfectly as the threaded post was a little long. If anyone has a suggestion for one that is better I'd like to know (particularly if it's not an airforce guage).

mine is completely stock. i've read stories of people opening up their gun cases to find that the guage had blown apart. when I ordered my replacement guage from airgun depot the guy told me that he had 1 customer a week ordering replacements for airforce guns because of this.
