Since new Fired about 500 pellets. Often the rifle is extremely hard to cock, And I mean hard, My poor thumb is wearing out. The rifle will work great and suddenly almost impossible to push the cocking lever forward enough to cock it. Any Idea's ?
Any modifications? I foolishly bought one of the aluminum breaches from talon tunes... the metal breech does that periodically - gets jammed up. For me at least this does not happen with the stock delrin breech slide
This may not be the problem but I had the same issue with my Condor SS. On my rifle the safety linkage was hanging up causing difficult cocking until finally it just locked up.
I had this issue as well from time to time on my condor(stock, no mods). try putting the safety on before cocking and see if it helps. if it does the the issue lies in the dogbone that activates the safety automatically upon cocking.
Disassembled the rifle and found that the notch in the safety slide was not formed correctly, had leftover metal in the notch, so the bar that protrudes upwards was not dropping down far enough when the safety was released. I cleaned up the notch, smoothed everything out and that solved the problem.
I am no expert, just an idea that worked to solve my problem.
I just finished the safety test. No change. The cocking system goes past the safety set and then stops. I fired half a dozen rounds and now is stuck, Won't cock and I can't press any harder. My thumb Knuckle is really sore from trying to cock this Talon SS. I thought this would be a step up from my Gamo Urban. The Urban is a pleasure to shoot and more accurate to boot. I need to find out how to depressurize and strip down and fix the Talon. Thanks for the idea's.
