Target can appear bigger?

Are the scopes exactly the same or different power ratios? Variable powered optics are generally variable magnification. The closer the focus the less the magnification. This is referred to as focus breathing. This occurs more with optics with higher ratios, in other words a 4-16x (ratio of 4) would have more focus breathing than a 3-9x (ratio of 3.)

The best rifle scope I've ever owned.I can see a fly buzzing around a woodchucks head @ 300 yards w/it ! :)

It common for the intermediate magnification markings to be off by a significant amount. When you set the 6-24 to the 6x mark, it might actually be closer to 7x or 8x. It’s also possible that the 6x mark on the 4-16x scope is really closer to 5x. If having exact magnification and AO range markings are important to you, then you should calibrate by remarking them with your own numbers. Factory marking can be close but rarely as good as we can measure ourselves.
