Target/kz colors

I got enough to do maintaining a course to spend time on target painting. IMHO, with two courses to deal with, it's white faceplates with light blue paddles and light blue faceplates with white paddles. There's only two colors to keep on hand.
I cover a lot of ground on foot & ther's barely space in the tool belt for two cans of paint and a can of WD.

Anohter thing to consider is what your shooters want. I've had negative feedback on faceplates that are black, dark blue, and dark brown.

YMMV

Keith, I do similar. I have white and yellow faces with black hit zones. Club members have really liked that combination. For the smaller hit, zones black targets just ended up black on black, especially if shaded. Other colours, like dark blue, red, dark brown, green and some others, just look like black to colour blind shooters and we have a few.

funny how on some of our most plain targets we have needed to direct where on target to shoot, as well not shoot

There are several posts that mention color blind shooters. Kind of surprised none have posted a preferred or appreciated color for face and KZ’s.
Not sure as I don't suffer from color blindness, but when I did my solid colors I used this as my reference as to face plate and paddle colors.....

In all likelihood the only folks needing to abide by WFTF colors in the USA ....
Would be Sanctioned events such as GP & Nationals etc where a WFTF class is present.

As too CLUB SHOOT venues .. Nope (y)
Even as a rabid WFTF guy I don't follow the approved coloe schemes for club shoots. The colors I use are based on the ability to see your KZ hit. It's my opinion that this aids wind training. To me that's very important. Black KZ's suck at that.
