Tariffs Explained - Pyramyd AIR Insyder

exactly..
I have no idea how to research it, I have really appreciated your replies..
so I actually don't know if tariffs apply to used, or private party.. I guess it's just a whole big question in my mind..
Maybe no one else cares, not that I will buy anything but I'd just like to know..
seems like it would be pretty important for the classified section but what do I know.

In May 2025 the De Minimis Exemption for Chinese goods ends.

The rule will apply to goods imported directly from China, as well as those shipped from other countries – such as England, Sweden, or EU member states – that have not undergone substantial transformation before entering the U.S.

As of today 4-26-25 the US CBP has not defined "substantial transformation".

The US CBP requires carriers transporting De Minimis Exemption packages to maintain a bond to ensure payment of tariffs and duties for such packages found on inspection to be carrying Chinese goods. Carriers are increasing their rates on shipments to the US to cover and maintain this bond.

As far as I can make out from the guidance given small volume vendors in England and the EU by their respective governments; non De Minimis, non Chinese goods must have the current US CBP tariffs and duties paid for in advance by the buyer and remitted to the carrier prior to shipment. This puts the burden of knowing what the tariffs and duties are on the small volume vendor and such vendors are opting out of shipping to America.
Testing this right now. I ordered two tank valves from Aliexpress. As of noon today they just left on a flight from China.

Shipping was "free" without any extraneous charges included. I'm curious if they'll make it under the wire or what...

Thank you, gentlemen, for an easy to digest explanation of how tariffs will impact us (as individuals, businesses, and as a nation) not only as air gunners but in other aspects of our lives.
And you did it without going political

ok then what? I'm assuming from what you said it will either show up with more charges, or ? or not available at this time?
looking forward to hearing more..

!!!
also please someone elaborate on what happens to things in the classifieds?
👍
or will they only be usable for in country?

Generally a tariff is only applied to products once, at the time that they are imported. Once they’re in the country it’s assumed that they’ve already been paid.

Lots of talk here about material things... I'm afraid this whole thing is going to go way deeper than that. Lives could be destroyed.
That's all I got on the subject.
I totally agree, but that's the case in a lot of aspects with everything else that goes on.. just for instance, look at all the major political things going on around the world.. we don't discuss that here for good reason..
but honestly Airguns are just material things.. so is our money and pretty much everything..
we all have so much to be thankful for.. just starting at the basics that some people don't have.. steady good food? warm house? comfortable bed? yes those are also material things that are necessities..

It’s gonna be interesting when all the “yutes” (watch my cousin Vinny) have to give up being influencers because all the crap they’re pimping costs too much. It’s not good, all-around).
Ya know ... Yutes !!!
Wiser, smarter and so much to offer ... ya yutes !

I have no idea how that might work out. I've only ever heard of tariffs being charged on new items, but I'm no expert on the matter.
well at some point hopefully we will know.. I don't like bad surprises, but sooner or later someone is likely going to find out, hopefully not the hard way.. mess up a deal between two people in the classifieds..
guess that's about all my questions in this..
the rest is wait and see what is still available, what is temporarily unavailable and what no longer exists..
hopefully we still see new stuff coming out and hopefully we can at least still obtain the parts needed to keep our toys running..
I guess summary of Tyler Patner video is that likely the major shock we have coming is compressor prices..
