Tearing apart a BOB

Finally had time to rip apart a BOB stroller I bought from Facebook marketplace for $50. Works for every FT gun I own and that’s a lot đŸ¥´
This is the almost finished product:

Do you have an option to move the Kolpin clamps closer together? I would think it might be less than ideal to have the rifle laying on the barrel. Especially if you have to navigate over bumpy terrain. Good job, Nice looking cart!
Thx
Dan
Hi Dan, that is a good point!
Current angle of the dangle of the lower Kolpin clamp is temporary.... i needed a quick placement to see how things will fit together so i can do some light fabrication.

I have several ideas in play; one of them is to cut some heavy duty 3/4" pvc tube and lay it / screw it just below / across the mid section "but" not to interfere with the BOB's ability to fold up! Schedule 80 PVC or heavy duty electrical conduit will work fine.

That's the nice thing about this forum.... lots of eyeballs helping you scratch your head harder forcing more happy into those ol brain cells.

their site seems to be down right now / maintenance but I've dealt with them an highly recoommed:

quick service too....
i noticed lots of British field targets sites are "down for reorg" at the moment.... wonder what's up?

@XSUltimate - spent saturday finishing the BOB range cart - as much as any project is ever finished. I used some stout 1" dowelling to act as crossmembers and fixed in place using 1" conduit flush mount clamps and attached with TEK self tapping screws. Here is some pics with different FT rigs:

It is rumored that James Bond while having all of the coolest high tech gizmos and being the best dressed smooth talking spy was a terrible shot. HA!

That looks great Cavedweller! I use those same Kolpin Clamps on my cart. I use a Allen Rifle case sandwiched in my Kolpin clamps and just slide whatever rifle I am using into this rifle case. It fits perfect into those clamps and fits any rifle I have and keeps it from flopping around. It has side pouches to store my goodies. It is heavily padded and really helps with protection. You might want to look into this case or similar. it works out very well. Nice rig you have there! They make a camo colored case that hides the dirt and dust better than the black one:D
P.S. I have a very light weight umbrella that mounts on the hand grip to keep the AZ sun from beating on me!!!
Thx
Dan

Thank you - !

Initially I bought every make and model airgun i thought would please me to do whatever i wanted but now i have (sold off) or culled the heard down to a specific discipline using three platforms - which i will eventually reduce to ONE.

Discipline = Field Target

Platforms =

Steyr's
Daystate's
RAW's TM1000

Finding the right Scopes is a tougher job... finding the magic reticle is an ever evolving adventure.

I liked this idea sooo much i went out and spent MORE moolah.... sigh. But that's the point of this thread.... ideas!

Been there ... SEEN THAT :eek::eek: Tricycle BOB carts falling over on uneven surfaces as well BLOWN OVER in strong wind gusts.
GET YOUR RIFLE SITUATED "Low as it can Go" within the carts framework. Up high like you have it will only cause you grief as well a likely FBAR rifle or optics when it does go over
Good points - I guess I should abandon my umbrella idea đŸ¤£

I actually have a mount for an umbrella on mine for when I am waiting. I will try to post a pic of it.
All proud of my BOB stroller decked out and take it outside to practice my kneelers and standers.
Turned my back on my rig for a second and because i forgot to lock the wheels....Murphy screwed me, and rightfully so...the BOB moved forward over a lip in the concrete and tumped over; spilling my favorite FT gun and scope all over the ground; thank goodness for soft grass.
Like Motorhead said - keep the weight as low as possible and avoid adding things that make it more top heavy or susceptible to the wind.
