FX Tensioned barrel for impact m4?

Tensioned barrels sound like a wonderful idea, but don’t fit the M4….i know Viking air gunner is using one by removing the side picatinny rails on the m4. I believe the 4 also has locating pins on the barrel block and the 3 doesn’t. Any word on FX (or anyone else) making a tensioned barrel block for the m4?
And can the back side of the pic rail be hogged out to make room for the block/screws?

You’ll get the same or similar results now with the carbon fiber liner sleeve. Or if you buy a slug barrel right from fx (not just the liner) it can come glued in which is what I’ve got at the moment. My impact m3 does have the barrel “block” screws your talking about to tension it before it goes into the shroud. I also like saber tacticals hand guard/top rail as it tensions your barrel shroud in place. Then if you twist the silencer on the end a smudge harder than normal your Jam nut will be extra tight tensioning your system even further without needing to get rid of your barrel shroud like the “kit” wants you to do. The shroud makes a huge difference in sound suppression. This is my take on things and the way I have always avoided poi shift and keeping things still technically free floated for accuracy while staying rigid enough it won’t need re zeroing every time you bump or bang the gun. Hope this helps!

I also thought the m4s came with that same tensioned block? Just it was behind your pic rails. Doesn’t mean you don’t have one there tho I’d bet. I watched Viking air gunners vids too and that was my take away. They are there just get rid of the side pic rails. Or as I said previously, check into some aftermarket top rails. They look so much cooler with those besides.

A spacer collar that uses your shroud to push off the action when the shroud is tightened works nearly as well and keeps stuff hilariously quite. Fair warning, this takes ingenuity or tools. I made a spacer and it was a breeze to find tunes and was precise, then I bought a tensioner and im married to that now, it's not much better and

I had to buy a yokozuna to get back to a sound level I liked (it's my hangup) and it's not as friendly with how it resonates to the light slugs. It's a slippery slope to a high power heavy slug gun that is pretty precise but not as forgiving and precise as the shroud and collar were... If your experiences were to be similar to mine.

Hmnnnn - 6 gun, my understanding was that the tensioned rig clamps tight to the barrel, then the muzzle nut pushes the cf sleeve against it. Shroud spacers would essentially be pulling the barrel against the action block (where it’s only held in by a grub screw). Doesn’t sound fun.

Jman, the tensioned barrel kit comes with a replacement support block that clamps down, whereas the stock block has orings and the barrel slides right through.

Fist pic is a tensioner, second is the m4 block (with locating pins)
The kit, plus a cf liner sleeve, is supposed to be killer….
