Is there a way to test the PSI in a gun tube , thinking my gauge on the gun is off .

I've not had a good way of doing it, but what I did do, and I feel safe with this method is...
My Hill pump has compared well with several pressure gauges I've had that go up high enough to be meaningful and has matched several airguns I've had, so it is my "Gold Standard" and I guard it well. I compare my compressor gauges to it and my guns to it, and that's my way of keeping things in "reasonable" calibration. There is plenty of "room" for slight error in air cylinders and gauges, so I figure if I pick one I can see agrees with many gauges, then I can use it to adjust kentucky windage on all my gauges, and everything works out fine. Also, if i change gauges on a rifle, I can "calibrate" it against the Hill gauge.
Not the scientific way but keeps me plenty inside the danger zone.

I have used the same method as BChannell and it served me well. I think it is a reliable method, within reason, without getting too crazy and expensive.
