Airforce Texan 308 “Blemished” purchase

Did you notice the world record Airforce had a ER Shaw 308 barrel.....Not Lother Wather.... I worked at ER Shaw there just normal production grade barrels.....Some of the Airforce Lother Wather big bore barrels are not good...

If he call service the next day it arrived.. you could be sure..Rachel would send him another gun. As soon as that one arrived..if he wait for a email response instead of callin and days just passed by.. really difficult to resolve unless they received his email with the pics the same day he got the gun, even when they open the email the next day .. costumer service is flawless at AF .. I would not blame like the whole company when maybe the dumb nuts who pic the gun to be shipped, was not a airguner , and didn't care of the condition of the gun . There are people like that they simply don't care .. they say is not my company I'm here by the hour ..

I bought a blemished 308 Texan this week. This is not a flame post, but just to serve as informational. I was expecting some nicked edges on the aluminum (which it has), or some odd coloration in the bluing (which it also has), or some imperfections in the molded poly parts (also present). I really did not expect ALL of those things AND RUST! I should be able to fix up everything (with the exception of the poly parts) and will eventually ceracote it, but wow. I really didn’t think I was getting something in this kind of shape. It almost appears used, but I don’t know that for sure. The crown has rust, but the bore doesn’t appear to have any. My endoscope is just a little too large to get into a 308. Just a warning to all who were thinking about saving a couple hundred bucks, know what you could be getting into. I recently purchased an Airforce Texan SS CF BLEM. I could not find any blemishes on the one I bought. Have you contacted Airforce about the condition of the rifle you received? If not I would contact them and see if they would replace it.

That's NOT a blem, it's at best a well-shot return.
It turned out to be a .257 also, something tells me this was just a “fell between the cracks” type of fluke. Their customer service is legitimately great to work with. They not only made it right with what I’m pretty confident was a new 308, but had it to my door in two days without even having sent the original back. Rachel and Leah were amazingly helpful if you ever have any issues.

I would definitely pick up some slugs and try it out!

Your description says that to me. Where you bought it makes a difference. For instance, if you bought it from Midway, their description of a blemished gun could very well be someone's return. I bought some tins of .177 pellets recently from Midway, which were described as blems. Every can was heavily damaged. Damaged cans aren't blems - they're "damaged". Blemished products usually show superficial, cosmetic errors usually in the finish. Midway has a reputation for poor packaging of pellets, and I have received such badly damaged products from them in the past. Since I figured on the "blems" being damaged returns and made the purchase for pellets that could be used for purposes of calibration of velocity, sound, and use in full-auto gun versions where accuracy isn't of prime consideration, they are quite adequate.

But I bought it from Airforce guns. I don't know why the people who make the rifle would lie about it being used, seems like bad business.

I have to agree with you. I own a dozen or so AirForceArms and have dealt with their customer service before. I have found them to be honest and honorable. When I called to log in the serial numbers of my guns, after seeing all of the products of theirs that I owned, they sent me a $150 package of accessories at no charge!
My statement to you was only my guess because I thought you bought it from Midway. I've changed my mind.

Lol, no worries. :) It was for sale in the Airforce Outlet. All they have now is red and blue condors and escapes. I guess Airforce has pretty decent QC before it goes into the box. They have always been really friendly and answer questions fast, at least in my own experiences with them.
