The arrow in this picture indicates the metal plug with the groove cut all the way around it. There's a notch in the trigger group safety plate that the plug fits into. Somehow the plug is over traveling by a micro mm to slide under the striker release sear that is directly to the right side of the arrow. you would think the notch in the plate would prevent it from over traveling but I have inspected both pieces and cannot determine how it is happening. I see no irregular wear that would allow it. Just food for thought. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

That's the guy I've been talking to. He originally told me he completely removed it. But, later he said it continues to have issues due to his striker sear plate being bent. But, thanks for the info. We're on the right track.
Are there any score marks/scratches on the side of your hammer?

Well, good news. The parts fixed the cocking issue. I completely dismantled the trigger group and reinstalled the new pieces and springs. Everything has gone back to smooth working condition. Which part was it? The trigger sear, striker release, springs, or a combination of all of it? I have absolutely no idea. But, for the price of $60 I replaced the trigger group and all is good. Still waiting on the new magnum spring and front valve assembly. TTYL

Back for an update. I installed the new spring which was a much better fit in diameter. I also installed the new font valve assembly. I'm uncertain of what the difference is because it's not a visual defect. But, I did see a good increase in power. I now have my SS .457 shooting a 380gr rebated boat tail from ZAN at 624 FPE and 845 FPS. I believe this is all the setup is capable of. I didn't see the power of the SS in the video sent by AAO, but I'm ok with my results. A long process but it did finally work out to an acceptable end. Thanks again to all who commented. Special thanks to "The Archer". Have a great day y'all. TTYL

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has tried AAO SUPER VALVE with the heavy hammer and magnum spring? If so I'd love to hear about your findings. I have a LSS and an SS in .457. Information on either rifle with the AAO setup would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Maaannnn .... @EliteAirCustoms I have recently purchased the entire kit to install on my 457 Texas long barrel. I have honestly had nothing but trouble with it from jump also. Jeremy with AAO is very helpful every time you email him. Yesterday somehow while I was shooting the top hat cracked! I contacted Jeremy and he is going to send me a new one but I still have to pay the $57 shipping fee which I do not agree with. In all honesty I wish I would have just kept my money and my Texan stock!!!

Yes, it's a pain to say the least. Did you remove the 3-5 mm from your loading tray? That's typically the cause for the damaged top hat. I finally got mine going after ordering a bunch of replacement parts from Airforce. I do agree Jeremy is very good to communicate and help with problems. But, it sure seems like there's a lot of problems to arise. I'll be happy to pass along any info I have. In hindsight, I will also admit, there really wasn't anything lacking from my stock Texan. I just got power hungry and wanted to tinker. And, that's exactly what I got. About a month worth of tinkering an additional 50 FPE. Lol, good luck 🤠

It definitely is. Yes, I actually took it to a machine shop and had them do it. I was having to pull the trigger to get everything to disengage before I could cock the rifle every time. I took it all apart and reassembled and somehow that fixed the issue.🤔 I got the kit to simply flatten out the trajectory of the projectile. A little more power would be nice but I was just looking to reduce the amount of hold over I would have to use at longer yardage . I guess I was just kind of looking to take some of the guesswork out! Jeremy is sending sent the parts today and included some different size bumpers to alleviate having to adjust the top hat... We will see how it all works whenever I get it, and get installed.

I personally didn't see much of an increase in power without a bunch of fiddling. Even then it only added up to about 50 FPE. I shaved 1.5mm off the bumper and got a little more power. I do not recommend unscrewing the top hat to increase travel on the valve, keeping it open longer. Those tiny brass threads won't handle it. Be sure to loctite the screws that attach the cocking lever to the carrier tube. If those back off any at all they will strip plum out of the tube and your in a mess. Believe me, learn from my mistakes, lol

I'm not much for fiddling, more of a plug and play guy! Lol. He is actually sending me a couple different size bumpers so I do not have to fiddle with the top hat any longer. I think I am just going to put the smallest bumper he sends and replace the hammer with the factory one so I can just adjust that way. Never thought about that but I would definitely do that, thanks for that advice!
