Texas State Piston Rifle Championship
We are planning to host a Piston Rifle Championship on Saturday Nov. 12th.
Our hope is for this championship match to continue and grow. Ideally a different club will host this each year.
We plan to have 2 awards. The first award will be for Overall Piston Champion. The person with the highest score wins this award. The 2nd award will be for the Break Barrel Division. The person with the highest score using a break barrel rifle will win this award. This means if a person shooting a break barrel rifle were to shoot the highest score of the day that person would win both awards. The idea behind the break barrel class is to get guys out who normally shoot PCP as I figure most everyone has a break barrel spring rifle or can borrow one. The break barrel division is sort of the fun rifle in a sense though I am sure a few will take it seriously. If by chance somebody shows up with some sort of whiz bang super target break barrel rifle, as Match Director, I have the right to kick you out of the BB class as that is not the intent.
The rules will be simple:
1. No PCP rifles allowed. There will be no fun class for PCP, etc. Piston rifles only.
2. You must pick one of the 3 AAFTA piston classes and follow the AAFTA rules for that class (Hunter, WFTF, or Open)
3. Rule #2 also applies to break barrel rifles. So for example you want to shoot a break barrel rifle in Open Class you use those rules.
If you plan to attend this event start letting me know. We need a head count.
Main point of contact is Craig Martin ([email protected])
Estimated cost is $15-$20 per shooter (hot dog lunch included)
If the weather is bad on 11/12 we will postpone the match accordingly.
