If the fix is like I'm imagining from the description. I have to admit I'm with Muskrat.
I wouldn't be happy with that (an oring on the barrel OUTSIDE of the shroud). And if the shroud wasn't functioning like it should, then it should be replaced.
You think Kalibrgun would fix it like that with an additional oring (if sent to them for the warranty work in-house by their standards)......nope!
I don't think anyone will dispute o-ring use in airguns; they are used all over airguns and work great, but with a life span (that's to be expected).
But it's the placement of the o-ring (if I'm right about where Muskrat is saying where they used an o-ring) that isn't the cleanest fix/repair.
If I was paying pretty good money for one of the higher end pcp's.....I wouldn't want it fixed like that either.
I would take Neil up on his offer machining a groove for the oring!
I think it would be worth reaching out to AOA and tactfully tell them your not happy & see what they have to say.
I agree until it is resolved one way or another between the two parties first......it probably isn't best to post about it.
(Call or email them & see what they say).
Muskrat....is this where the oring is?
