Well today while working I noticed something while grabbing some tools out the back of my truck....the dreaded sight we all hate to see

It's only been a few days since I shot it but clearly looks like I will be replacing the orings on the ol' Mutant. At least whenever I have time. I have all the orings for the Veterans but will have to do research if they are the same or not. My luck probably not. Guess the Vixen will be riding along until I get this resealed

I feel your pain, went into the gun safe a couple of days ago to clean my PB's and noticed my cricket tact II 22cal. and carbine long 22 cal. both were lower than I left them ( I put painter's tape on the gauge to mark the pressure when storing). The carabine long I bought in 2018 or 19 so I expected it to happen.

Yeah 2 leakers is no fun! Yeah it's bound to happen and I usually buy all the orings for my guns once I have them but forgot about the Mutant having a different airtube. Plus with the age of this gun I knew better. Probably the temp swings in my truck of over 70 if not warmer inside and also freezing the last few mornings doesn't help on old orings.

If anyone is curious the Veteran airtube orings are 23x3mm and the Mutants are 21x3mm so there is a slight difference. Almost all the other orings are the same based on my searches so I have them.

#1 spot to look ... where the air tubes rear most section screws into receiver. The o-ring in that position is pressed into a V shape against the valve seat face ... it it prone to harden & fail !!!

i had a similar experience a few weeks ago. i packed up for a day of shooting with some friends and when i got to our shooting site i noticed my 3L refill bottle was empty and i didn’t bother to fill my guns before leaving my house. talk about a bummer.

@Dairyboy I would be surprised if they weren't the factory Orings, and that says enough.

It can happen to any airgun as we know, they are the Achilles heel so to speak.

That's exactly where my veteran of 5 years failed as well.

Oh no Dillon! Well, you do have back up and I am sure you will get the correct o'rings to re-seal the Mutant!
