The .177 Caliber is King Here!

At the velocity and power level my .177 cal is now, the JSB beast are the most accurate. I received a shipment of the Griffin slugs today for my .22 cals (17, 22 and 23 grain). These slugs remind me of the FX Hybrids. Preliminary tests are mediocre, however, I plan to do more testing with various velocities.

When I get time, I will test some of these Nielsen 15.5 gr slugs. I have laying around. Right now the Beast are more than adequate for my 40 yard pesting.

125-130 bar for reg setting.

Your English is just fine, by-the-way.

Hope this helps

Addendum: Actually, 22 -23 fpe -- 13.4gr at 873 fps -- is pretty good; maybe a bit above average for .177 caliber.

What brand and model is your rifle?

A local made named ghost warrior its a bullpup

And i have made some mod adding hpa bottle + paintball regulator + and adapter.

Elongate barrel transfer port to 4mm diameter and needle probe

Some dremel work with chamber to get more plenum volume

40cm barreĺ save some trying to get a lothar walther polygon bareel either 60cm or 69cm with 1:17,7 twist rate

Hope it will improve accuracy and power for 100m with jsb 16gr or a slug

I’m really loving all the different posts around 177 lately and all the power you guys are getting. I had been considering moving from 30 to 177 for a while and I’m looking for to my first 177 arriving this weekend.

What rifle are you getting?

Have a Pulsar HP 177 on the way. Also picked up an Uragan in 22. I have been wanting to shoot cheaper and more often for a while, so was looking to get a 22 or 177. Just so happened that I was able to trade off my 30 and my last benchrest 22lr to pick up both options. There were several options in 177 that I was looking for, so it just depended on what came up first. It was VERY hard to bypass the stash of Taipans that Tony got in recently. If there had been more of those in the hands of people showing off what they could do, I might have gone that route.

Had I seen your post sooner, I might have had to pause a little more. Those are some sweet looking shooters. In getting a 177, I also wanted a higher powered one, so I like what I see from what you have there. I will be watching closely!

I posted both my .177 Matador and my .177 Lelya 2.0. The Matador is tuned to 31 FtLb currently. The Lelya 2.0 is tuned to 18 FtLb. I love them both. I am mostly a plinker and a farm pest remover. Most of my “killing” is within 50-60 yards, usually less. If I could only have one I would choose
