Very good review! Thanks!!!!! More reasons why i need a Atlas for my MKII.

I ended up not doing the Atlas for now and ordered a UTG Rubber armored bipod for about $50. Yes, I will end up with an Atlas eventually however this one had me intrigued. The UTG has performed very well so far and for the money, I am very pleased. Like I said, the Atlas is going to happen, but for now, the UTG is filling the bill rather well. Very sturdy and nice movement to it....just an FYI for those looking for something nice without breaking the bank. I will move it to one of my springers in the future.

Moonlight, I purchased an earlier version of the UTG:

Quite frankly, I prefer it's simplicity to the more complex Atlas bipod. It's lightweight, solid, tight, and snaps up/down smartly. Best of all, it's tiny when collapsed.

Cost not being considered, the UTG fits my shooting needs better than the Atlas. The Atlas has too many adjustments for my taste and shooting style. I cannot remember a time when I needed to adjust my bipod all the directions the Atlas offers...perhaps I'm missing something here?

Yes...I've used the Atlas bipod. I didn't keep it for the above reasons. I don't see the value for five times the cost of the UTG.

It would be interesting to hear from Atlas owners as to how many features of the Atlas they actually use, and under what situations.

It may convince some forum members to purchase one, and perhaps others to put that extra money in gear more suited to their style of shooting.

Keep in mind that the Atlas was designed for firearms not airguns with no recoil. It is a professional bipod for military use. It is considered by many to be about the very best most durable and flexible one for hard use on the market. Or it was last time I researched it. For casual air gun use I think the less expensive one are a better value. But of course for those who just have to have the best? Yes I will probably have one eventually myself. :-D

I ended up getting the same knock off as the OP, I wouldn't trust my life with but than again I never will have to, like I'm guessing 99 percent of atlas bipod sold won't.
I agree with what azccj said about the quick disconnect being sloppy and the only cant play coming from that slop.

I never would have spent that much for the real atlas bipod. but my bsa poses a unique problem for me where the fill prob is located limiting what types of bipod mounts I could use. This knock off works perfectly for what I needed and I will not need any more than that.

I have both, I didn't purchase the knock-off on purpose. I found a great deal on an original Atlas on amazon, so I bought one. After sending the person an email asking for them to ship USPS as it would have gotten to me much quicker, I received an email from him in very broken english. I became very worried that I had been taken for a ride and I was right. I got the fake one that comes in a brown cardboard box, unassembled, with a little card. I was very upset that I spent 240. for a fake. 
So, I called Amazon and filed a claim, got a full refund from Amazon, as the seller would not respond to me, and got that seller removed from Amazon. 
I also called Accushot and told them about the counterfeit seller on amazon. I then proceeded to drive down to my local tactical gun shop, and purchased a real Atlas.
Now, for the comparison between the two, There isn't one! The Atlas is made better, smoother operation, pan and tilt actually work, and the components are solid. The knock off, after I assembled it, it was gritty not smooth at all, no tilt at all, it pans 360 degrees, if you lock it down but pan left it unscrews the lock. one leg is so tight you cannot move it with one hand and the other leg has no tension at all, if the pin wasn't there it would swing back and forth.
I used to be on the wagon about this subject but decided against the knock off, I was forced into it, but it all worked out in my favor as I got to keep the knock off because the seller would respond to me.
I understand that these are airguns and we don't have to defend our lives with them, and if you are only going to put it on a table or level ground it will probably work just fine, but I use mine and shoot from wherever I am, whatever terrain. The original Atlas is a superb piece of equipment and though it is a lot more money, it is well worth it. I love mine and wouldn't have any other!

I just got today the jj airsoftcart bipos with the extension legs.....the quick release works perfectly and there is no tilt on this pipod abut it turns pefectly.
The only,problem which is an easy fix with a sand paper is the extension legs...they have another 2mm so they click into place...but for some reason it is a little thicker at the top so this is where i need to sand it down just a hair so they sit into place...not a big problem ...they even say Atlas on it just like the original but this is a clone...but for $63 delivered they are more than perfect.....i know what i am going to spend my $300 pounds saving on.....lead for my airguns....hahaha

OK guys today I had a chance to give the a good workout to my JJ airsoftcart bipod with QD ....it is not good at all and there is a lot of movement while on the rail.
A friend has the JJ airsoftcart which you screw on the rail with your fingers...that one is very good and does not move at all. so DO NOT buy the QD one.

The greenbase bipod with the QD is like in the picture above and it is very good while it is mounted and no movement at all.
