The best pcp under $300

which pcp rifle is the best under $300 ?

With enough precision and power to hunt pests within 50yds - 70yds

A gun that has been on the market place for more than one minute?

Not the Avenger. It is brand new and no history of how it performs over time...the Avenger could be awesome, but it could also have a milieu of problems too, especially in its first iteration.

I would do the Umarex Guantlet for $229...cheap and has been around the block and back and has a troubleshooting record.

Just about any Crosman. This is a modified .177 Maximus.

It's not regulated but the 26" barrel and light hammer spring give a ton of good shots.
It came with the Marauder trigger group, TKO, Magnum Air bolt handle, extended bolt probe, Grade 8 valve screws, a power adjuster.

I put a Discovery spring in, & Don Cothran adjuster. I just wanted to see how well it could send JSB 13.43's & 16.20's. Very well but eats air cranked up & I think something in the Neutron Star power level is more what I would want if delving into heavy .177's.

Point is (It's not for sale) if the right guy's selling something and already upgraded everything, it's a win win. I got lucky with this. If you consider what it cost the seller.
Just consider that. People aren't always selling guns because something is wrong with it or not as accurate as it should be. In fact when certain guys sell things I would prefer to buy it from them as I know that they are picky and true in their description of items abilities and condition.

This can actually hold its own against my BSA .177. Both are single shot which I don't mind for airguns I shoot targets with out to 100 yards. Sometimes a multi shot is nice if trying for shots at long range before wind changes again or before you really loose your hold correction. I don't click for windage.

That new Avenger looks really hard to beat for your purposes. For anything, I mean it's really loaded with features but I don't know how the trigger compares to say a stock or stoned Marauder's. Don't know about build quality.

And one thing I will always tell someone in your Market is Crosman customer service is absolutely perfect. If I buy a gun from PA and I find a legitimate problem with barrel when I look through the borescope, Crosman will replace it if I choose to keep & not send back to PA.
I've only ever sent one gun back to them. Stock arrived cracked at wrist on a Rainstorm. I wanted to keep that gun/barrel but PA paid shipping and needed it all back for inspection.

I've been having a boatload of fun shooting my Xisico Sentry's, I now have four of them, one that was given to me by a factory rep and three of them since. The one that I got from the factory rep is a .25 that I've since modified and it's shooting my cast slugs up to 50fpe. I know that some guys are even modifying them up to 100fpe which basically for me is a little overboard for a small caliber but to each his own.

These guns are super reliable but I recommend a person to go through them completely when they get them. They're an excellent choice for a tinkerer because of very well designed platform. The valves in them are about the safest/toughest I've seen so far. They aren't regulated but once you get them adjusted where you want them they are super accurate in both .25 and .22 and will deliver a good long string. Basically the only modifications that I've been making in mine are drilling out the ports, deburring whatever needs it and a thorough cleaning replacing original lube throughout with better lube.

This one is my latest one which is actually one of the original's made back in late 2016, I bought it from a fellow member on GTA and it's always a lot of fun out in the woods hunting and doing a little plinking too.

You will find that the Air Venturi Avenger is the next evolution of the Liberty, Nova Vista is the factory and they listened to their clients, the Liberty / Nova Vista HP800 and HP900 are incredibly accurate and come regulated and with a side lever and have been around for some time, unfortunately we only got the 177 and .22 in the US , whereas they have been out longer and have a large following in South America...The Air Venturi Avenger is known as the Nova Vista Leviathon both of these guns have developed a good following in South America. Such a pity they never brought in the .25 model in the US for the Liberty...

Hi,

I don't know if is your first pcp air gun to buy. I'm a break barrel guy for 15 yrs now i own couple.. I just had my first pcp the Avenger .22 for two weeks now. I'm loving it. The adjustability of power is very fund to give you more shots.. You said it's new i know but, it has warranty for a year plus Pyramyd air has a good return policy to check it out.. I just started with pcp's last two weeks. I'm just with a hand pump right now, I'm ok with it, i also get exerciser plus it's cheap investments $50. You have to consider your source of air cuz all the money you'll spend it gets a little bit expensive. The Gamo Urban, Fortitude gen 2, Hatsan flash and the flash pup are my choices before.. I decided with Avenger because the adjustability, features and the price. I'm finding it a wonderful gun. Have a good one :)
