Just so I'm clear if your bottle has a valve you can remove it without degassing it?

I believe so, I can remove my Impact bottle but not my Boss without degassing first. I would check with the manufacturer

So it is true. Cut almost 3” off shroud. Heard it was so FX could fit it in a common rifle case across the product line?

Correct.
They replied to me in an email when we found out about the shorter shroud that: "It's hard to find a case for the boss" ... They don't want to make a seperate case fot the fx boss anymore so they just cut a piece of the fx boss so it would fit in one of their standard cases.
