The Daystate LC110 Compressor report

Thanks Humdinger I wanted to be sure the parts were NPT NOT BSP or Metric with filter coming from China pump coming from Italy with globally sourced parts. You could make a mess out of it easily. Thanks again. +1 to you for the help. M

The inlet and outlet caps on the gold filter are M10x1 metric threads and seal with Delrin washers. Take this into consideration before ordering elbows if you want to attach them directly to the caps. NPT may screw in a few turns and seal with tape but I would recommend, not doing that.

The compressor hose and it's 90 degree connector is moved from the tower and threaded into the output side of the gold filter using teflon tape. The existing 300 DIN on the fill hose can still be used as is if you prefer. It can be unthreaded from the compressor's fill hose and replaced with a Grainger adapter, part #6W433. Then you can attach it to a female threaded foster quick connect, or female threaded male foster if you prefer. I used two 90 degree 1/8 npt threaded male to female elbows at the output of the water separator tower and at the input side of the gold filter. I threaded a male foster check valve into the input side of the gold filter. I connected a 2' high pressure fill hose that terminates in 1/8 npt male threads between the tower and the gold filter. One side is threaded into the street elbow on the water tower. The other end of the hose has a female quick connect which connects to a male foster check valve threaded into the 90 degree npt elbow on the underside of the gold filter.

Teflon tape

All of these are available online through hydraulics suppliers, Northshore Compressor, Ebay, or Aliexpress. Just be sure to buy 5000 psi or higher pressure rated fittings from whichever supplier you buy from.

I've added photos to the previous post to clarify for anyone who is interested in adding a gold filter to their LC110 setup. I realize that the gold filter has M10*1 female threads and anyone is welcome to add male M10*1 to 1/8NPT female adapters to the gold filter. However, the male 1/8 NPT fittings used with teflon tape fit the gold filter female threads extremely well and seal air tight. I did a pressure test on the connections and they hold pressure indefinitely if threaded on tightly and sealed with teflon tape. Use these fittings at your own risk but they are effective for several who have used them. I was skeptical myself but learned this from Centercut and it works.

Since I'm considering a compressor, I'll ask on this thread.

I've had 2 Shoebox models. Takes too long, would rather pump. I am looking at a 2nd Hill MKIV since I have so many rebuild kits, but wondering about the G-7, & new Huben pump.

As far as compressors, I've also had one from a dive Shop that I sold as is, as it didn't work as I was told. Buyer has it running to this day.

With all the bad luck, I've decided a Bauer or as good, gas engine model is in my future. There's a rebuilt Capitano for 5K right now, 8cfm, but that would take a year of saving. I will be buying a brand new high end gas engine compressor. Any advice appreciated.

Until then, I figured try a cheap Yong Heng. It would only have to fill 500cc rifles while I put $500 a month away. Then I need advice on a good electric compressor in the $1200-$2000 mark. Draw isn't a problem, wife is a foreman of commercial electrical company. I do want this to last; but my ultimate goal is a top of the line gas engine compressor. This is where I really need advice.

I believe the electrical will be a Daystate, Coltri, Carette. Any advice welcome

When I make the $4-8K gas compressor buy, maybe even up to a 30k cascading 6Kpsi system as I have hopes of a future air gun shop in my State which just legalized air gun hunting for all but big game. By the time they bring in big game, our money game will be right.

I'm not even depending on this as an income. It'll be my hobby, & if Web & local business takes off, then great. I'll follow up with Baleigh lathe, mill, assorted machinery for basic crowning to experimenting with builds, balanced valves, custom stocks & bedding, etc. Just like The Red Wolf is hot right now, I see the non electrical sans solenoid valve Huben technology as the up & coming thing. Watch out when that patent runs out.

So guys, a little about why I want top of the line gas in the end. What's some good choices to get me there? Isn't a Daystate just a rebranded Coltri or Carette Italian compressor? How's the availability of parts?

Dad was a machinist at Ingersoll Rand in NJ. I'm looking at those also. Sad thing is my life & money game are coming together when Dad is 76 & not up for big projects. We've discussed a Benzene pump high pressure pump & air gun capabilities. Not 50Kpsi air guns, but why it seems so hard to get things right in this hobby, why things fail, etc.

I read the above chart on reported problems, & I'll add my input on the Shoebox. More people need to see that. I think it should be reposted.

Time to shoot, I'll check back later for any good advice given from what chinese cheapo for rifle fills, to what eletric, & finally gas cascading system may be here for me to read. God bless, JD.

Well, I just went over 5 hours run time on the Daystate LC110. Topped off my buddies 77 cu ft SCBA tank, then my two 66 cu ft tanks and my one 88 cu ft tank this past weekend. All tanks were topped off from approx. 220 bar to 310 bar, except for Nick's tank which was at about 190 bar. That one took about 20 minutes, the two 66 cu ft tanks took around 13 or 14 minutes, and the large tank took about 20 minutes. The compressor still runs exactly as I bought it (used), and it had about 5 hours run time on it (reported from seller), so now its total run time is around 10 hours. I have one of the vibration run time meters on the compressor that I installed. Still is fairly quiet, and sounds like the "little compressor that could"..it just chugs along.

I did replace the DIN300 male connection on the end of the factory hose with a female foster QD on @Humdinger recommendation. That makes the hose much lighter and easier to manage, plus all my tanks have a male foster so that makes it easier to hook them up to the compressor. The oil still looks new, so I'll probably wait until I have ten hours run time to change it out again. I have not opened up my "gold" filter yet either, I don't get much water from the factory water separator, so I'm confident the "gold" filter media is fine. I'll change that out when I do the oil change at 10 hours. Oh, and I did replace the air inlet filter after I got the compressor. The one that came to me was very oil soaked, not sure from what, but I'm pretty sure the filter is supposed to be a dry type paper filter.

I suppose I should fill mine with oil and start using it... have had the LC110 for months and due to some work stuff and holidays, I just haven't picked up a gun. I ordered a gun rack for my office today so that I can hang them in plain sight so I am reminded that they exist and run down at lunch and shoot.

Sounds like the LC110 is working well for folks.

Hi, my daystate compressor arrived yesterday and i have an hour meter that is the same as the one that you are using, just a different brand. Are you happy with yours, does it function properly and would you install it in the same place if you had to do it over again?

Also, thanks for all of the photos and letting us know about all of the modifications that you made.

OK, my brand new Daystate LC110 with only .3 hours is dead !!!! Seems that the motor has took a cwap. Topped off a tank from 3000 to 45000 psi. Closed tank valve, drained air line, turned compressor back on, to do the warm down cycle, and motor making strange noise/vibration, turning but quickly blows a 15 amp breaker. Strange almost humming noise, like it's out of sync/cycle ???? YES, I'm pissed! Compressor turns freely by hand. I'll take the belt off later, and make sure it's the motor. I'm soooo tired of this cheap cwap. Alkin, here I come.👎😭😡
