The Deadliest Bird Feeder

Hello everyone,

I had some small drop pieces of steel flashing and I decided to make a small Quonset Hut style Bird Feeder out of them. Couple of pieces of scarp wood, a bit of paint and whal-la the Deadliest Squirrel magnet  . I mounted the Feeder out next to my 25-yard steel targets so that all the seeds that fall out of the Feeder will land on the ground next to the targets. As you can see in the third photo this guy thought he had found a free meal but it turned out to be a .177 cal pellet to the brain .

Thomas! Great new feeder and and...wonderful lobotomy to start....😂! Nice pics sir!
Hello @Ranchibi

Thank you, however I do not have a doctor's license to do brain surgery  .

To give the little guys a break, I removed the scope from my Crosman Challenger and installed a RedDot and sighted it in at 25-yards :D.

Tell your Mom I said howdy.

Getting it done with the .177. Nice shot. You could hang up one of your targets and scare them to death.
Hello @Headshots

Both of those targets make quite a bit of noise because the backstop is vertical and the pellets hit straight on.

Nice shooting, those grey squirrels love to chew on people stuff. Have to keep them in check.
Hello @maxtrouble

You are so right about that, and it's not just wood that they get into. I had some 110vAC wiring going to some outside lights and the little (&^$&) peeled several feet of insulation off two of the wire. They also get into my vegetable and flower gardens and dig up a bunch of plants.

I can't wait to get my first pellet rifle. I used to hunt squirrel back in NJ when it was very rural. (You gotta KNOW I'm a geezer). We used the hanging hat trick when they were up in the trees. It eas too easy with my single shot '16 ga. I will use the same trick once I get the Xisico at flying dragon. My fingers itch! Squirrel pot pie, and all their names are "stew."
