FX The FX DRS, what do you guys think?

After having toyed with several cheap PCPs, I've finally decided to get the FX DRS 500mm, .177 4.5 cab (.22 and above is restricted in my country) tomorrow. Although I've watched quite a lot of reviews on Youtube, I just want to make sure I'm not making the wrong decision here. Another option is a used Dreamline Compact old model, but I find the barrel a tad short at 300mm. Another is the Impact M2, used too, which I find appealing but the model a bit old. So, with my budget, it seems the DRS is my best bet. It'd be really appreciated if you guys could help me out here and let me know if I'm heading on the right path. Thanks!

think it is the best looking gun FX has put out .

I like the idea of a DRS in .177. I don’t own one but if I did that would be my caliber of choice. The lower air volume would be really mitigated by shooting the lighter weight projectiles of .177. I really like the new tactical version that FX just released. Looks to me like a really fun silhouette rifle.. I think you would be making a wise choice getting any DRS model in .177.

I have a DRS in .22 with the 700mm barrrel. It has the super plenum on it and the STX Superior Heavy liner - which is their slug barrel. For the price, it has been an exceptional gun. It's really long with that barrel and with a moderator it is the longest gun I have! It is light and so far it has been more accurate that I thought it would be. If you can get the 700mm barrel in your country, it may be worth it as then you can shoot slugs as well as pellets. There are 2 things that you want to get that do not come with the gun:
1) The FX picatinny rail - the dovetail is too short to even get close to having the scope at the correct position. The pic rail solved that problem
2) 3"-5" pic rail for the front. I shoot with bipods and tripods and had to add one to the gun. Very easy to do with the plastic stock.

Did you get the short or tall Picitinny scope rail ? And what determined your choice.

I like my DRS Classic Composite 600 mm .22.

It is more accurate with pellets at ranges between 50 yards and 160 meters, than my (2) Streamlines and AA S510 Extra. That's with it driving 14.3 gr pellets at 1030 fps, about 100 fps faster than the other three.

Other than louder muzzle bark, it comes out ahead of the other three. I may buy a second identical DRS.
