The Glorious Satisfying “THWACK” Of A .30 Cal.!!

Yepper. the .30 is not so backyard friendly. I cranked off a round in my suburban backyard from my new Evol Paradigm. The muzzle retort, even with the stock AAA moderator, was quite a bit louder than anything else I have, including my short barreled Caiman X in .25, not to mention the sound of the round hitting the sandbag target. I decided then and there to order one of those new Alteros muzzle break/moderators. Just going to have to find a 1/2 ich threaded adapter for the Evol. I'm sure they are out there.

Love my AAA EVOL 30 and Leshiy 2 in .30cal! I'm still pondering what my next one will be.

I don't care how quiet you get your .30 ( I have a few quiet ones ) the noise of the hit will always be way harder

I’m sure this is old news to many of you… but .30 Cal. is a new addition for me in my personal arsenal, and all I can say is WOW!
I would certainly not want to be on the receiving end of one… as a pest, or a rimfire spinner!
I think Im going to need to upgrade to a CF-rated gong plate to withstand sustained punishment? HaHa!

Feel free to show off your .30 and share some details about it if you have one, and I’m certain everyone would love to see the carnage on your reactive targets ect. 🤙

My only contribution for now is a nearly new second hand first generation Uragan, and let me just say I have no buyers remorse!

I can say that when the airgunners at my club line up and shoot spinners at 110y (not easy), there’s something just extra joyous when I connect with my .30 compared to the lower power guns. Could be that the spinner goes completely around a couple of times, lol.

Nice collection !!! I would like to add a Cricket Tactical 60 in .30 ; is it accurate and ....backyard friendly ? I have the same model in .22 and it's pretty accurate .

OK, got the Paradigm sighted in today at 30 yds in the backyard. So far, stacks 50 grain FX pellets. The ARKEN EPL4 6-24x50 was made for this rifle. Now the really good news for which I was hoping . . . My DonnyFL 1/2 inch adapter came in today, so I was able to put the Sarissa .30 cal moderator on it. It is whisper quiet. More quiet than my BSA R10SE in .177 and equal to my FX Crown in .25. Definitely backyard friendly. If I go to the field to hunt, I can always switch back to the stock moderator which is shorter and lighter.
