Why do over 90% of the competitors shoot off a bi-pod in air rifle benchrest. Centerfire benchrest competitors mostly use a joystick front rest. When I shoot my air rifle off an adjustable front rest the groups are much smaller then using a bi-pod or tri-pod.

Man I really been trying to navigate which bipod or rest is right for me. I see the big heavy front rests and think they really would probably be best for me. However I start to think about the fact that getting a big heavy rest to matches along with everything els I need for a match on say a plane is unrealistic it seams. That’s why I been leaning more towards a bipod like a tier one f class bipod. I have zero experience shooting on either one other than a Accu tac bipod. But it seams a bipod like a f class bipod would be a step up. Would love to hear your thoughts.
