The New “Classifieds” Categories Are Nice!!

I randomly dropped into the “classifieds” this morning and the catagorical breakdowns of the products for sale is a helpful addition when perusing ads. Coupled with the “open,” “closed,” and “all” filters it makes sifting through ads easier than before. This is a welcomed addition to that forum.

Saves a lot of digging if you're not interested in buying or selling parts/accessories for a select few rifles.
AGN forums are well managed indeed.

I guess I will be the sole guy on the other side of the fence. When I open and exit AGN the classifieds are my first and last sub forums to visit. I personally find the new gray boxes very distracting. There are lots of ads that don't have them or its open to the folks to choose the correct or incorrect categories to list their stuff in which could be open to interpretation and add confusion. For example, if someone is looking for a rifle and the poster puts it in the wrong category then the item may be overlooked if the potential buyer is just looking at the gray boxes. I really don't see the need to redundantly advertise the same product twice in the title box. Thanks Michael for your work in the background but just thought I'd add constructive comments from the other side.

No problem, we can’t please everyone!

If the author fails to select the correct Prefix that’s their loss.

If a member is searching, for example a PCP Pistol, they can use the Filter to eliminate all of the other items for sale, and they will be presented with only the items they are seeking. Sorting using a Filter should make this task quicker and easier.

We will be implementing optional Prefixes in most of the forums as well.

This is pretty cool they are finally divided into categories. Now we as forum users need to get better at classifying our items. This feature is only as useful as we put it forward. Your barrels etc etc are not “pcp rifles” but accessories and there are many categories for accessories and I see many not realizing this or utilizing it.
Now a search function that would search your key words only in the classifieds section of the forum. That would be awesome as well.
