The NEW FX Wildcat MKIII

Great improvements and the original appealing style and ergonomics have been maintained! The barrel length however??? the 500 is a bit to short and the 700 a bit to long ( almost awkward looking, IMHO) Now a 600mm barrel would be just RIGHT!

Keep the innovations coming, as FX pushes the envelope and shows us all the possibilities!

😎

Let's just say barrel kits can make this happen. Also note the price of the barrel kit for the Wildcat in the US: $299.99 for the 500mm, $349.99 for the 700mm. 600mm won't be a problem for specialty dealers who want to carry it.

Minor point, In the above specs it states, the "optics rail" as "dovetail".

Will the .22 compact give 60 shots at 40ftlb?, if so great, if not then if I may I shall use an analogy, to explain my gripe.

In motor car adverts we get top speed and MPG, but for MPG we get, " MPG at a constant 56mph" ect, it may be more honest if you stated max shots at a certain power level, rather that just max power and max shots.

ps, it also states fill pressure as 230bar, I have watched another (excellent) review, where it was reported that the fill pressure had increased to 250bar.

Worldwide the Wildcat ships with the dovetail standard, here in the US all Wildcats will have the picatinny rail.

As for specs it really comes down to listing the gun at factory spec (meaning harmonized most accurate shooting) but also letting shooters know the max foot pounds you can achieve with different projectiles (ie hybrids, slugs, heavier pellets). That's why we list the muzzle energy as up to and leave the shots per fill as listed with standard JSB pellets that we built all our rifles around.

Fill pressure on aluminum cylinders is 230 BAR.

How much is to change caliber on compact? Including magazine?

And how easy is it

Compact barrel kits USD $299.99

Sniper barrel kits USD $349.99

Standard Side Shot mags USD $49.99

As easy as on other modern FX rifles, simply swap barrel, probe if changing calibers, and tune (combo of AMP reg and rear power adjuster)

Me again, I thinking I am not making any friends here, however.

Compact, 500mm barrel, overall length 26.75 inch

Sniper , 700mm barrel, overall length 37.75

that is 11 inch's longer overall for only 7.87 inch (200mm) extra barrel.

Is that an extra 3" of shroud on the Sniper, if so that seem the reverse of what I would expect.

Are these figure correct, or has something been lost in translation

I fear I am setting myself up for a slap down.

Still a very nice Rifle though.

Don't worry, we appreciate any feedback and are here to clarify questions on the new gun :), You actually helped us out, we have now made a correction on the details of the gun. The length of the sniper has been updated and the correct length is 34.5 inches.

Unprecedented move by FX? Really? 😐Are we speaking the same language or did I just wake up on an alien planet?

Unprecedented meaning never been done before. Can you think of an airgun that was unveiled/announced and available at stores the very same day? Hasn't happened. We hate waiting for things and figured customers did as well. So now you can find out about it and get one on the very same day. Unprecedented. I rest my case 😁

That is bollocks

Do you know why is that

why we in Europe must spend another nearly €90 Picatinny rail

FXUSA opted to pay more for the picatinny rail and that is reflected in our price / margins. Rest of the world pays less for their Wildcat. Might be hard to see when comparing prices as every region is different (exchange rate, VAT, some countries show price with taxes some don't, etc). Hope that clears things up.

Sorry, but putting a knob on the hammer spring adjuster is about the only thing it has over the MKll. I prefer to use an allen wrench. I have no problem mounting scopes on my MKl's or MKll's. My Mkll in 30 cal already has the AMP regulator, 700mm smooth twist X barrel, and I put a gauge on mine, to read regulator pressure. Just sayin........😁 And I'm a "lefty" so the larger magazine does not interest me. Same reason I have not purchased an Impact. I do own 3 FX Wildcats.

Could we take a pause here for a second from roasting FX-USA and take a quick step back?

Very few manufacturers/distributors hang out on the forums, and it seems the larger they are the more this holds true. FX is a bit special in that they're proactively engaging with people on the forums, helping people out, answering questions, etc. I'm not taking issue with people bringing up technical problems or questions about specifications, but some of the outright roasting going on here seems a bit unnecessary and confrontational. If we keep this up, if FX pops their head up only to get poked at, they would rightly stop posting on the forums. And that'd be a loss for everyone, whether or not you're a fan of FX.

Just my 2c.
