The newest newbie!

Welcome to this forum. What is your shooting discipline? and gun choices ?
Thanks Todd, I don't have a "shooting discipline". I usually only shoot paper when sighting in or checking zero on a scope.:) My first PCP was a Hatsan BT65 .25 that I am converting to a bullpup side cocking lever. I also have a KAM P12 or maybe P15 (pre SPA, Artemis, SnowPeak) that I converted from single shot to multi-shot, an AEA HP Carbine, and most recently a new to me FX Wildcat MK I.

I know who you are, and you'll consider this place a second home!

Welcome and we're glad to have you! 😃

Yes, usually I'm more of a mid price range guy. I always said I would never own an FX. Well I got a great deal on an older FX Wildcat MK I a few months ago and started researching the Impact, but think a Maverick is probably a better fit.
I took the plunge with a VP, then got a sweet deal on a preloved Sniper so, then fell deeper into the tuning and except for a messed up o-ring in the front reg on the new VP, the rest was easy. Tuning them is fairly easy. A few tricks and some things to watch out for but I'm loving them.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the Maverick. I think the Impact is too heavy and tuning for me. I might go for the Maverick instead if I can find the deal I can't refuse. From what I'm seeing researching, the tuning should be a lot easier on the Maverick.

Welcome to the forum although I think you joined just a few hours before me. :)

You referenced another airgun forum. Is this like Fight Club and we cannot talk about the other forums? I reread the terms and don't recall seeing any mention of not talking about other forums. Is the name something that can be shared (I'm not trying to stir anything up)? I'm trying to consolidate my resources to help ramp up quickly. Cheers.

PJ, I don't know if it's OK to mention other forums or not. Didn't want to step on any toes as it was my first post. I'll DM you the name. Hopefully someone will let us know if we can mention the other forum. LOL

Way to rub in the fact that you can DM. ;) I'm still trying to get the feature activated.

It is like using the motion sensing sinks, no matter how much I wave my hands around like a madman I can never get the water to come on <waving hands like I'm launching jets off of an aircraft carrier deck>...... Thanks for sending the name I appreciate it!

You only need 3 things, ok I lied 4...err...5 things. 1. a starting point AEAC has some great numbers, suggestion start LOW 2, some good tools, I absolutely LOVE Bondus American Made. 3. A rear digital pressure gage, got it off of Amazon, same as the others without the huge markup, oh and batteries 4. Silicon oil, get it the same time as the tools, gauge. 5..Air, lotsa AIR. Ok there a #6. a FX radar, set it back from the muzzle about 4 - 6". Oh oh #7 some digital calipers to set the Hammer Spring Adjustor. I've got a little write up somewhere on this forum for my VP and some other member tossed in some good Info. I'm working on the numbers I'm using for my .25 Sniper, set up for 2 different weight pellets, it's fun.
