The PVC, 1-1/4" Bore PCP air cannon????

Fascinating trigger! I guess I didn't scrutinize the photos. All of mine were built with solenoid sprinkler valves and fired electrically (A couple 9V batts and a switch for a trigger.) There are probably better battery options these days.

Hello @GeneT

This trigger works off of a vacuum principal. The "blow gun" acts as the trigger by releasing the vacuum. When you charge the tank with air, a vacuum is created on the back side of a diaphragm which holds the pressure in the tank. Release the vacuum and bingo, all of the air is released instantly.

Hello @Chukar60

Did you happen to see my big warning to not exceed 60psi ?

ThomasT

I did.
I hope people read the entire link I provided. It clearly states that PVC is not approved for use with compressed air. No where does it state any acceptable air pressure level for PVC pipe.
I am not looking for an argument or trying to win any points here. I just want folks to know that compressed air and PVC are a dangerous mix and wanted people to see what the makers of PVC pie and fittings say about mixing the two.
Eighteen years spent selling pipe, valves and fittings to commercial and industrial installers and another 6 years in the plumbing business and it was drilled into our brains not to mix PVC and compressed air.
I just wanted to provide the information. What people do with it is their business.

Hey @Chukar60

Your statement is an absolute false and misleading assessment “ I just want folks to know that compressed air and PVC are a dangerous mix “. Explain the difference between 60 pounds of air pressure and 100 pounds of water pressure. OR, explain this chart?

Have a great day,

I got to take a coworker to the ER to get stitched up and remove pvc shards from his arm and face after he bumped a fitting with a piece of lumber while removing it from a rack. He ended up with a meager settlement from the incident that has allowed him to live work free in a crappy camper in Montana. Some guys have all the luck. 😀
