The PVC, 1-1/4" Bore PCP air cannon????

That's way more high tech than our college potato guns..lol
wild idea..probably won't work,...if you can heat one end of the pvc pipe and twist it with a fuller on the inside to maintain shape..pvc smooth twist
what about a magazine??
Looks like a fun project Thomas ... stuff like that keeps us young..like the Twilight Zone episode:D

Hello @manabeknives

A magazine would be possible to make but would take a lot of extra parts and add weight. This looks really simple but it is a bit more involved to modify that Orbit valve. I took the time to design in 3-D a brand new "Cap" / Top Plate to replace the factory Orbit and had some 3-D printed. I will see if I can find them and take a photo. My design eliminates the holes and channels that needed to be plug up so the vacuum process will work for the trigger.

Hello @mandn

Let me see if I still have the "build sheets" on this thing. I will look in my drawing computer and see if it is in there and at one time I had made a "How to Video" but pretty sure it is gone. I stopped using Youtube and I think all of that material was deleted.

I will let you know one way or the other.

ThomasT Thank you, I would love to build one here. It would fit right in here.

Hello again @mandn

Here is the parts list for the Model 212. The one above that I shot today is a bigger unit but built on the same basis. It use a 3" sch 80 PVC pipe, 16-inches long .

I also built some MUCH BIGGER , the one on the right in the photo is a standard Model 212, the one on the left, well now that is a CANNON 🤩.

It looks very similar to the potato guns we used to make. The big difference was we powerd them with Aqua Net hair spray. It was set up the same with PVC, except we would spray the plenum with the hair spray and twist the endcap back on then used a Coleman lantern igniter screwed into the endcap to fire it. We used tightfitting potatos or apples for ammo. If pointed straight up it would shoot an apple clear out of sight. It was surprising how much power you could get from a couple of spays of Aqua Net LOL.
Same, but pops would use green walnuts. THHWWAAAANG.

Hello @manabeknives

Mike here are two photos showing the "replacement Caps" that I designed and had 3-D printed. I eliminated the holes and channels and the offset threaded hole on the top. I made the center on the top larger OD and stronger to accept the drilling and threading for the Trigger Valve. They were a bit expensive but worked perfect with no fear of any leaks. Even the smallest leak stopped the vacuum process from working so no pressure and no trigger.

Thank you so much. this is going to be a lot of fun!

Wow Thomas T yours are way more detailed than ours were, I'm really impressed how detailed it is. Looks like you may have started a potato gun revival LOL.
Hello @ba49

Thank you, they are a little detailed but work so well and unbelievably powerful and accurate. These are NOT toys and should be used like any gun.

I agree, they are not toys. I once hit the door on my neighbors new truck by accident with a big spud and put a big dent in it, he wasn't impressed or happy.

Hello everyone,

I was talking with @rsfrid / Ross yesterday and told him that I had some serious withdrawals from not being able to do any shooting lately. I have both of my rifles up for sale so I don't want to shoot them. Over 1-1/2 months ago I sent my .177 caliber Pistol to be tuned, and still have not received it back :( . Then the "new" Reximex RP came in and it had a defect with the Fill Probe, so I sent that to be modified and not sure when I will get it back  .

Ross suggested that I make a Blow Gun. Well as it turns out I built several Air Cannons many years ago and they will shoot a 1-pound projectile vertically OUT-of-SIGHT . So this morning I set up a paper target tapped on a cardboard box out at 20-yards. I filled the cylinder up to 50-Pounds, yes 50-pounds, and blew a rather large nasty hole in the target o_O. The projectile went through the box and continued out another 35-yards where it hit an Oak tree and ricocheted across the street another 15-yards .

I feel so much better now, however I’m not sure how to score this target :ROFLMAO::p

Range: Outdoor 20 - Yards
Rifle: Air Cannon 1-1/4" Bore
Scope: No Sights
Pellets: Projectile 1-Pound
FPS: ??
FPE: ??
Wind: 3 to 5 mph

Hello @Chukar60

Did you happen to see my big warning to not exceed 60psi ?

At my apprenticeship it was very normal to take a 1/2 liter milk carton, put a little twist in it ( thats the name we use for that shredded cloth you can use to wipe off oil ASO )

iu

Anyway add to that a little Oxy and acetylene and you have a loud " firecracker "

Have a little of the " twist " come out of the milk carton, and hang down from it, light it and it will act like a fuse / give you time to retreat.

Since then i have been thinking what if you mixed Acetylene and nitros oxide.

Well TBH it did not happen in all shops at the Danish railways in Aarhus, but the blacksmiths was game.
Me being me, well i of course had to try and share in other shops, but that was not super popular.

I was like ???? its not worse then leaving the key in the chuck on your lathe and then let it rip, something i think every apprentice but i did,,,, which was nice CUZ doing that it cost a round of beer to the room, and the apprentice lathe shop was like 25 lathes or so

Friday was cleaning days, so a beer in one hand and " Twist " in the other wiping down your lathe / mill / whatever, usually you be spiced up well leaving work, and really set for Friday evenings party somewhere.
Actually when i got a car, well Fridays i took the bus to work.
