The Rapid Air Weapons (RAW) Buyers Guide

Call Martin, talk to him about doing a build.

It’s very difficult to compare brand of pcp. Because different ppl have different values.

RAW is know for building a gun that just works. Very few service points, very few orings.
It’s a knock open valve, that tends to be less efficient than most other brands. Heavy hammer, phenomenal triggers.

Old tech that just works…

Ok, I'll do a search. However, this thread started off as a buying guide and you made statements about the current quality. I know you are a highly regarded tuner (magic-man!) so I just thought that you would share your insights to why you stated that in the same thread.

Not quality ... but that of reduced selection of options & overall models now offered.

Quick question:
How are Raw barrels attached, screw in or grub screws, etc?

Don’t have one yet, but curious. Haven’t tried a RAW yet, but have always wanted to try one. This isn’t going to sway me any direction, but curious.

Sorry to bring live back to this topic after more than a year.

I can buy a Raw hm1000x with a 11mm dovetail rail and what I can see in the beginning of the topic is that this block was not offered?
Also the stock is different, its one off the early ones according the seller.

Serial number is HM02@@

Could someone supply more information

Definitely early HMx version. Martin @ airguns USA is who you want to talk to. Also I don't think there 11mm rails but BKL as you have do fit.

+1 on talking with Martin he’ll build you any you’d like and advise on the pro’s and con’s of each choice. He also makes some beautiful grips for the chassis guns👍

I have always assumed that dovetail was phased out when they started to machine them with pic rail.

Hello Jaxjax and thanks for the sale alert.
I bought the RAW 1000 in red for the sale price but when choosing caliber and color it was the only one that was $1449.
The same gun in blue or natural was $2000 about. Anybody have an idea why? It was the only red in stock.
Its because the closing out the dedicated left & right hand action versions for the new ambi actions being built. The newest version also doesn't have the blanking plug on bottom of action. There are other small differences between the 2. I snatched one up too when they started the sale. Rest assured you got a deal.
