The rare “Sniper-Squirrel”

Hello everyone,

Beautiful Fall evening in the woods of Deep East Texas and a rare sighting of a “Sniper-Squirrel”. This dude was about 45 yards from me and about 25 feet up in a Pin Oak tree with no leaves. He was so used to hiding in the leaves from me and he hit the base of the tree as fast as he could go and got up about 25 feet and I heard him say, Oooops. Brain shot right in his ear, first kill for my new Brocock Sniper XR .22 cal.

Hello @L.Leon

Thank you. I am loving this rifle more and more. I never have owned a rifle with this style before and have adapted to it very quickly.

My Bantam Sniper HR through performance solidified my love of the BRKs. Looking forward to hearing more from you on your Sniper XR.

Good morning @cavedweller

I did not eat this one, what I am doing with these Tree Rats is basically recycling them. I have Bud, the Black Vulture, that has learned he gets a free meal by flying over my place on a daily basis. Every time I shoot a tree rat I put it in an open spot on my property and in no time I see Bud out there enjoying himself.

That is a fine looking rifle. Good shot. You and Bud make a good team.
Hello @Nattboy

Thank you.

To me, it is incredible how these birds can find such a small item laying on the ground when the item is so camouflage. In the past I have thrown a squirrel out there and in less than one hour Ole Bud will show up.

Locally, I have a raven ( his name is Gomez) that likes hand-outs - but he only gets the guts 😉
