Commonly-used abbreviations:
MSP = Multi-Stroke Pneumatic
PCP = Pre-Charged Pneumatic
SSP = Single-Stroke Pneumatic

Which makes me think (a dangerous thing)...these discussions might be facilitated by a few new ones..? :
CO2C = Carbon Dioxide/Cartridge
CO2T = Carbon Dioxide/Tank
SPN = Spring Piston/Normal
SPR = Spring Piston/Recoilless

So, back to the question. The OP's quest for a self-contained recoilless pistol could be met by any MSP, SSP, or SPR designs; and a CO2C gun requires only a minimum of outside support.

Which brings to mind the fact that in these kind of threads (soliciting recommendations for a gun), the more requisites, and/or the more specific those requisites, the less chance(s) any such wondergun exists. Which, of course, is why such threads often stray way beyond mapped territory.

@jkingrph , I have a minty pair of 777s and a nice 717, as well as an AV 46M with Rink grips. I'm always on the look out for a 747 but haven't run across one yet that I couldn't live without. For basement and backyard fun the Daisy's are hard to beat. I would say that the 717 is perfectly fine with the plastic grips if one is right handed as the 717 is lighter in weight than the 777. Random pistols off the top of my head worthy of consideration (some of these are OOP designs going way back):

MSP: Crosman 1377 and 1322. Immortal design, kinda awesome guns for what they cost, tons of upgrades available.
SSP: Beeman P17. Yeah has the "military" look but unbelievable sights, trigger, and accuracy for pocket change.
SSP: Beeman P2 / HW 45. I agree overpriced but I gotta say I LOVED the only one I ever shot.
SSP: The !ZH 46 / 46M / AV 46. Fantastic guns.
SPR: FWB 65 / 80 are IMHO the finest springer air pistols ever made.
SPR: Diana models 6, 6G, 6M, 10. Fantasic guns with the Giss recoilless double pistons.
CO2C: Crosman 150 or any of its still existing descendants.
CO2C: TAU-7
CO2C: Hammerli Master

That’s a great list! A lot of beautiful and well performing pistols here. I’m starting slow, I have an AV10 on the way from a kind seller on here. I believe the pistol I’m looking for (dreaming of) is the IZH46. Gonna have to save a few extra bucks first though!

CO2 pistols are something that I never really considered. How is the noise level in comparison to SSPs/SPRs?

O-rings work great for the breech seal, there is a thread that Maxtrouble started on it. I bought a bag of them after I blew mine out and they are perfect. I still have some OEM seals, but I'll just use the o-rings.

I have a few OEM seals, but could you let me know the size and source of those O-rings?

Generally speaking, CO2C pistols will have a bit of a pop at the muzzle, similar to MSP or SSP guns, and more than any SPN or SPR. Varies with power (adjustable in some guns), and a longer barrel will tone things down a bit. The Crosman 2240 C02C is one I left off my list BTW, descendant of the 150 and sort of the counterpart to the 1322.

The IZH is no. 1 on my list of guns I shouldn't have sold! Really an excellent pistol, and the easiest-to-charge SSP I've ever met. Plenty of power and great sights and trigger.
