The state of trying to buy a new SSP air pistol.

Sure, I paid $365 shipped. No regrets!
I purchased a reseal kit for it before the pistol arrived, knowing how these things can go with 40 yo airguns.
After test shooting this one over the chrony for a few shots, I never bothered to open the kit!
Shooting JSB 7.3 @ 387fps.

I have to pinch myself, to be sure this lucky find is real.
Have fun.
For one that looks in that condition I think you did quite well. Shooting that well I don't think I would do anything but oil it. Just watch that foam wiper, if it looks to be deteriorating I would replace it. I have seen were people got actual foam replacements, made a ring out of a piece of felt. or like the reseal kits I got for mine a couple of years ago a set of I think 5 split teflon rings, split somewhat like the rings in a car engine so they can expand a bit to slip over the larger part and into the groove. With that many there are several spaces inbetwee that holds a reservoir of oil to keep the piston lubed.

… I've missed the relaxing simplicity of SSP's. I've owned several over the years …
Well said. I‘ve had the 717 and 747, both could out shoot me and I only have one currently, a nice boxed 777 that I don’t shoot much. I have a V10 and like it a lot but drool every time I see a FAS. Maybe one day.

Have had this Walther LP3 for a bit and finally got around to resealing it. 355-360fps with JSB 7.87. Time to go relax for a bit.
