The Sub $20 Airgun Moderator. It's actually REALLY Good! (Full Review)

Ordered March 3rd... Still haven't shipped.... I'll keep you all posted if I actually receive it
After a week of it not being shipped I emailed them and told them to cancel the order. They replied that it had already been shipped, BS. The day after they replied they shipped it. IDK, I hope it isn't a honey pot and a guy gets arrested for buying a silencer without the permit. They do call it a silencer and not a moderator.

They are off to a bad start... I'm going to give it a few more days.. if I hear nothing by early next week...game over. I'll never order from them again.. and of course advise other members to do the same when they ask about them

Paranoia. Don't worry about that. That's not how they would do that. Anywhoo. Probably growing pains. You get a big write up on this forum and some youtube video and suddenly you have more than you exected.

Probably just under estimated what demand was going to be after the youtube video and the write up in this thread. Give them a chance folks. They probably need to get their feet on the ground.

Good point .. I guess I've gotten too use to this "on demand" world and have forgotten about how long it took a few years ago to receive a mail in order..

Airgun capital ordered on March 3.. email from them on the 8th showing tracking numbers but tracking shows just a label was made.. today March 11 and still hasn't shipped.

Ordered from Buck Rail March 10... Email from them on the 11th showing tracking numbers. Tracking numbers show it is in transit and should be at my door on March 14..

Buck Rail...off to a great start.. and from the video above seem to be a nice moderator..

I got mine. The POI dropped from dead on to six inches down at twenty feet. The metal thread insert doesn't seem to line up with the exit hole. It is quiet but what's the point. Maybe I can insert an all thread rod, heat it up to melt the plastic a bit and get it to line up. The target on the left is my Tanto, the right is from Airgun Capital.

If you are going to try that (inadvisable but...) If you are going to try that use a straight cleaning rod with a tight patch AND a wrap of tape near the muzzle end of the rifle as a guide to center rod in the bore at two points. Where the cleaning rod exits the muzzle of the moderator you will need more tape which you will use to center the exit hole in the muzzle of the moderator on the rod. Once you have all that set up, heat the threads on the muzzle of the rifle NOT THE THREADS IN THE MODERATOR to about 160 - 180f and screw the moderator down against the stop nice and SNUG not overly tight just enough to force that thread square. Let it cool COMPLETELY before you move it again. That will do it usually. During the entire process the rifle should be oriented with the barrel perpendicular to the floor.

I took a good look at the inside of it and maybe just running a drill through it might be the best option. IDK, it was just a failed $20 experiment anyways. I'm sure that I just got a defective one and the majority of buyers get good ones.

I'd try "indexing" the moderator to see what effect position has on it. You could make some thin flat shims from thin plastic or thinner aluminum cans to put between the moderator and the mount so that it rotates to a different position, and see if that changes things before you permanately change the moderator.
