you have a huge point of the transferable warrantees.
I know Hawke changed their policy and that was a HUGE reason I was willing to buy used ones on old Yellowforum. 
I sold a Sidewinder for $250 shipped as I thought it was totally not worth the MSRP/MAP price.
On the other hand I absolutely love the AMX reticle & The Airmax for any springer. Maybe I'm alone on this but I refuse to put my Japanese Bushnell's on anything over 8ft/lbs max.
My smallest one is on the John Thomas 6-7ft/lb HW30 .177 but I worry about that one also. If it fails for ANY reason due to double recoil, hearing, "we'll replace it with a newer model of "equal" value would be a laugh. Unless they're going to replace it with a true Japanese glass model. Which they wouldn't. 

I have a super fine Weaver target reticle scope. 2.5-5x32. It's on my BSA SCULTRA. Scorpion/Ulta hybrid .177. 
I would be a fool to put that fine old wire reticle on ANY springer. Only a SSP or PCP.

If someone has a list of every scope company that offers a true no questions, no receipt, transferable warranty, that would be handy for all.

As far as I know, Burris, Bushnell. I could be wrong & not know what has changed.

OR!!! How's about I LIE and say the Vortex Golden Eagle IS CRYSTAL CLEAR ALL THE WAY TO 60X(even though theres darkness and fuzziness starting from 35x) AND THE SIGHTRON SIIIs ARE PERFECT ALL THE WAY TO 50Xs (even if past 30x ain't perfect no more?) WOULD THAT BE MORE ACCEPTABLE? IF I PRETEND TO BE BLIND AND RECOMMEND A SCOPE THAT EVEN I WAS DISSATISFIED ABOUT?

HOW ABOUT EVERYONE GO BUY THE $650 MTC VIPER PRO I WILL LIE AND SAY ITS THE CLEAREST SCOPE MONEY CAN BUY ALL THE WAY TO 30X EVEN THOUGH ITS A PIECE OF poop PAST 20X???

I simply found a MAP priced $499 Bushnell Nitro 2.5-10x44 for $199.00 

Figured I'd try my 1st FFP scope. Being I like 10x, the mil/mil reticle, & it's supposed to be a step up from a Engage. Had to see if FFP is for me or not.

Smart idea. I tried FFP about a year and a half and I’m still not sure. For target shooting FFP is great as it is for the few hunting situations when the target sits still long enough so you have time to dial up. I really think I’m more of a put the magnification where it is optimized, use a rangefinder and/or holdover, with a SFP or fixed magnification scope, and shoot. I am more a hunter than a target shooter. My target shooting is only to practice for hunting.

I wouldn't buy a low magnification NON ILLUMINATED FFP anything.

Wouldn't be able to see the reticle points at low power.

Have a hard enough time with my FFP BUSHNELL NITRO 6-24x50 at 6x. It's NON ILLUMINATED. BUMMER. 

I have a Discovery FFP VT3 great cheap scope but man it's very friggin hard to see the DAMN RETICLE at 3-6x. NON ILLUMINATED TOO. Should have gotten another HD version of that scope has ILLUMINATION so I can actually SEE THE DAMN RETICLE at low magnification.

And that's a huge difference for people.

If anyone has tried to hit a running Whitetail with any magnification higher than 3-4x it's not easy. Even if you are keeping both eyes open like I do for targets or whatever little pesting I do.

I had a talk with an accomplished shooter the other day. His thoughts mirrored mine. Unless you're on a scope for hours upon hours. Have bad eyes, in combat or Urban 1st Responder where good guys lives depend on your shot. If you're in competition, etc. 

Otherwise whatever works for you works.

I might go out and send 100 slugs long range. Then I need to get back to family before they're awake. One day if I'm given the chance I may need a true top tier scope for old eyes & time to shoot all day. 
Right now I have decent scopes to basic springer rated ones. With reticles I wish were 1/2 as thick. 
If anything let's look at all of this as good info but don't fall into the gotta have it, "scope snob" trip.

We've all seen what Southern Gunner can do with Leapers. So just shoot & be happy.

Do you actually use any of this gear in real life or just bang on about it. You couldn't possibly have time to leave the house . You must sit behind a key board 27/7.
