Here we go again. Solved the problem of short days with 20,000 lumens at nite. Today the temperature was 35 F. Brrrrr. I found my right hand freezes first. Been trying different thin gloves.

Well my wife again saved the marriage and pulled out a new old leather dress glove. Absolutely perfect, technically another layer of skin.

Excellent feel and doesn’t grab like rubber, allows you to slide your finger. Only problem is other hand now.
By the way that’s my Varmint LGU. Looking forward to changing the trigger. If I found a bottle on the beach, rubbed it and a gorgeous genie popped out, gave me a wish, probably wish for another LGU. Crow

I’m in Ontario. about 2 1/2 hrs N.E. of Toronto. Live on Trent Severn Water System. If I go left Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) go right Lake Ontario, With Covid-19 kind of stuck here winters.

This area is very similar to northern Michigan. Crow

Nice area. I used to live in Mississauga 30 years ago, before moving to the US. I loved going boating on Georgian Bay with my sister’s partner. But yeah, the winters are cold, and long. probably longer with Covid-19

I live right below you in NY, 12 miles from Lake Ontario, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester. I'll have to dig but somewhere here, I have a couple pairs of winter shooting gloves that have fold back thumb and index finger tips that fold back for easy loading of pellets in the springers and for the really cold days, Hot Hands packs to slide inside them.

Thin Stormkloth gloves if you can find them. Very thin and flexible. You can shoot with them on but not a super light trigger. I can't believe how warm they are. They wear like iron. And they come in huge size. Like my big hands. Most gloves on the market are too small for my ape hands

The key to keeping warm hands is wear layers on the rest of your body. And a warm knit hat. I fish at night in the cold. You can't fish with cold hands. Can't cast. I have to cut my casting glove fingers off.

AirShot I’m wth you, I like the feel of leather so far. I’ll modify the left hand.

SteveP-52 the way the crow flies, we’re just over 100 miles apart. I’m originally from Oshawa, even closer. I hope your not in that Buffalo snow belt. Man they get pounded. I like the idea of heat packs, definitely going to adopt that idea.

KWK I was in the hockey industry for over 30 yrs. and it blew me away with the materials they were coming out with (cool max, gortex, etc.). I want to get a roll of denier nylon, they use in hockey pants, and use it in the basement for a shooting backstop, apparently it will catch your pallet, just hang it loose.
‘Never wear a hat, only when snowploughing. You’re right about the layering, your hands or feet get cold you’re done. I’ll sniff around for a pair of those gloves if you can fish with them they got to be flexible, I have a tough time finding gloves that fit as well.
Once the lake freezes I’m gonna set up pellet traps at 50, 75 and 100 yards, and play around with long shots.

you guys really are a wealth of knowledge thanks Crow
