The weekend with my Evol HPS (high powered slug) tuning it to be an air sipping 18.13 monster!

Kevin - nice calm morning with little to no breeze. Lawn mower guys in the area to drown out any noise. (Score! lol)

The JSB 15.9s were honestly just okay, these are cleaned and lubed but not sorted. Always found the 15.9s had a terrible weight distribution from high 14s to low 16s so that could've played into it, but I'd say 3/4-1" @ 45 yards. Definitely good side to side but a big vertical spread.

The Crosman Premier (non HP) are a lot more consistent. Just shot a few mags and average groups are 1/4 - 1/2".

I'm always impressed how versatile the EVOL is. Especially this latest version. I had the original EVOL mini (maybe 3 years old) and it kept popping o-rings on the air tube and regulator on me. I believe Tom moved to 90d rings?? on this gen and I've not had a single problem after stripping it down many times.

I'll have to try some JSB 18s this afternoon. I did try a mag of H&N 18s and they were just meh. My Cricket Carbine Mini loves the H&N 18s though.

70 shots from what - a 135cc air tube? - pretty sweet.

I have shot an 18 shot 1.25-1.5" group at 100 yards with my mini and 18s around 820 fps. Absolutely amazing. Calm day of course. Either way, I am in agreement. Versatile and robust.

My HPS is serial number 320 and my mini is 675.... it is probably close in age to your current mini.

Have you tried the JSB 33.95's? Just wandering how they might shoot. I don't have a 22 cal yet, but thinking of an EVOL in 22 or 30 for a bench gun set up.

The 33.95 gave me like a 2 inch group at best at 50 yards so I tucked them away, there are very few rifles that shoot those well. I would definitely recommend the .30 with the trusty 44.75 or the .22 for 18.13

Had a feeling they might not shoot well based on their length. Pretty long pellet for BR shooting. Looks like the .30 will be the way to go. I'm just trying to wait on his new HPS version to come out before buying.

Really liked your MDT stock you had on there. Something like that with some wood pieces added as far as grip and cheek piece is what I'm envisioning to do for it. I want to customize one as much as possible for the BR line and functionality of course.

The HPS version I believe is going to be very oriented for PRS style shoots where slugs are king. I think its going to be very purpose oriented. The standard .30 Evol is more than capable of shooting the 44.75 in that 820-880 fps range that they really like.

You inspired me to mess around with the setup on my .22 Mini. I don't need it for any high power shooting so I detuned it for the CPP 14.3gr @ 800 fps and JSB 15.89 @ 755. Right around the 20fpe mark.

I dropped the reg down to ~1250 psi according to the gauge and with a 3800 psi fill I am getting ~70 shots on reg. It's also much more quiet with the stock STO insert now and even more so if I throw a larger can on the end with w/ a DFL adapter.
I want to play with my mini also. What did you end up with hammer tension wise? Can you measure how far out your tensioning nut is? I worry the evol platform with such a heavy hammer spring, and little adjustment to the pre load will have a hard time with low power.
I’m in the market for a 15” evol, and the plan is to lower the power on the mini and make it a ratting gun. Not sure if it’s feasible or not, and will will decide if I keep the mini, or sell it and get a brocock Ranger or similar.
