The Whooper HW77 - Update and Rear Iris Questions

Hey guys,

Just sitting here late at night when I should be sleeping. Hope everyone is well.

I wanted to ask the crowd about their experiences with adjustable rear iris sights, like the Gehmann 510 and 530?

I don’t shoot competition, just casually with my HW77. Always trying to improve, and lately the poor daylight here in Finland has really limited my shooting with my fixed rear aperture.

So my thoughts drifted to rear sight upgrades like an iris and sun shade tube from Centra or Gehmann. Thoughts? Useful? Useless? What about polarizers lenses and 1.5x magnification?

Looks to me like you have it figured out…Nice shooting !! I had a Gehmann 1.5 on a small bore (Win 52) years ago…I remember being very surprised at how well it worked. Big difference. John

sunshade i find is a help and when you have an iris that is sized at .9mm to 1.1mm you are unable to change that for your liking or the conditions
now adding a 510 will give you a greater chance to find the iris size you need
and that is where the build starts on Gehmann irises how many add-ons is up to you and your pocket book
i have not tried the mag lens option on a Gehmann i have a 565
i also find a rubber eyecup to be a good add on a fixed iris
