Fire
Arms
Certificate
Required if shooting 12fpe or more since their laws treat them higher power airguns the same class as they do with their Centerfire rifles.
Any pistol shooting more than 500fps same thing you need an FAC Certificate.
LEGITIMATE excuse for hunting pest control you pay for the certificate annually and need good reason to apply for one.
They don't have gun freedom there unless it's only sub 12fpe airguns and sub 500fps air pistols which are classified as toys and silencers there are very much encouraged to be a friendly neighbor in fact silencers for their FAC Centerfire are encouraged don't want to disturb the peace.
IN FACT To them it's extremely RUDE to shoot unsilemced airguns and firearms.
If I may respectfully add my points here, a UK FAC is renewed every 5 years, the current fee is circa $100- there is also an SGC, shotgun certificate, which is required to own shotguns although there is no limit on the number owned or a good reason required, the only acceptable uses are clays or vermin.
FIREARMS useage and GOOD REASON are strictly laid out as far as game classification and calber etc. the document is a good couple of hundred pages.
An airgun that is "capable" of producing over 12FPE muzzle energy in England is classed as a firearm and requires good reason for each and every one that you want to own, although generally you wouldn't be allowed more than one or two, they are allowed for club or target shooting by some Counties but not all, vermin being the main good reason and classified in exactly the same manner as powder burners, possesion of an airgun over 12FPE here would likely result in a prison sentance if you didnt have the legal authority via the license, an air pistol over 6FPE is classified in the same manner as a 9mm pistol and possesion would result in a MANDATORY 5 years in prison and yes it has happened.
All firearms must be locked in an approved safe at all times except during use, others having access to the safe would be a criminal offence, that includes your wife or partner, unless they also have a certificate, as you can imagine during a divorce or seperation your guns will generally be removed from the house by the authorities.
Scotland requires a license for any airgun currently, another ridiculous restriction which will prevent nothing as far as criminal use!
Indeed we love our silencers, or moderators as they are more often called, I have been using them on centerfire for over 20 years, they require permission but it's generally automatic if you have the permission for a gun, even for club and target shooting and especially for use outside on private land, they are also very cheap VS the USA, $40 will get you an exceptional .22RF moderator, high end CF can be had from a couple of hundred dollars new, no other costs and second hand ones will trade for $100 or less.
I can only uge American citizens to prevent idiots like the current leadership from removing your rights, you won't like it when you are eventully in the same situation as us!
Theoben has a big nostalgic following here, I have no idea why when modern guns like DAYSTATE and FX are availible off the shelf though, but then I dont like classic cars either! I had a RAPID 7 in the 90's and I wouldn't want another one now!
