There's A Storm Coming⛈️ NEW from Air Venturi at SHOT Show 2025

I don't get it.

Why do you need a pump to tune a break barrel? You have to break the barrel and pump it up to fire a shot?
I feel like Air Venturi didn't explain it good enough. There are 2 common types of break barrels: Spring and Piston.
The spring type is just a large spring that gets compressed when you cock the rifle.
The piston type is a gas chamber that gets compressed.

If you wanted to increase the power of a spring type rifle you would need to swap the spring for a stronger one.
If you wanted to increase the power of a piston type rifle you would just need to increase the psi in the piston gas chamber.

The top uses a spring and the bottom a piston. The spring uses spring tension to push and the piston uses air pressure.

So on the OmniStorm...sigh... you connect the bicycle pump and pump to increase the pressure inside. This makes the gun harder to cock and increases fps on the rounds fired. The gas inside the piston is never used to actually fire the round, it's a sealed system, it's only there to push on the seal connected to the guns air tank.

Piston type airguns have many advantages but the disadvantage is it's harder to maintain as if there is a leak the gun becomes non functional whilst a spring type has very few failure points, it's just a large spring after all.

In the below video you can see how a piston break barrel works. As the trigger is pulled the piston pushes forwards pushing the air out of the gun.
This motion causes a very hard recoil which will damage and break many types of rifle scopes unless you have spring operated scope mounts.

Im assuming like a hw90 or hatsan ram that you can adjust the pressure to suit your shooting needs as you need pretty much as needed without disassembly or fancy fittings hard to get $$ ( hw90) or pobes ( hatsan) . Thid gun looks like you degass as needed on one side and air up on the other ? If its quick , simple and convenient to do that it's probably nice .

I see you finally said something explanatory.. you adjust the gas ramp with the pump.. you apparently are so wound up that you failed to understand that it's a lot more pressure than a bicycle pump..
to be honest I really don't enjoy reading the ranting but I figured I should read all that you said to give you the benefit of the doubt..
it's posts like this that gets me to not want to look at the forum..
I enjoy posts that are well informed and information..
not trying to start a fight but it seems like it's already there between you and other members that I highly regard..
I'll just move along now..
please no more attack 🙏

yes I agree, it's not even on my list of things I'm interested in, just because spring guns are reliable and gas rams deteriorate over several years..
it's also good they include the pump because it is a lot more pressure than a bicycle pump..200#-600# if only people read the information..
I also wanted to say that I always read your posts when I see them, you've been here awhile and actually know what you talk about..

yes I think we both are.. how many PCP guns do you see that come with open sights or even the possibility of mounting open sights.. I actually prefer open sights and I just found some for my airforce Condor at AOA.. ordered a set, I never saw them available anywhere..
seems like you and me have something in common.. liking open iron sights on our guns

I imagine it's like the Theobens or some of the Hatsan rams. Use the pump to set the pressure where you want it and go from there. For most people itll be a set it and forget it kind of thing but for others they may want a 12ftlb gun then change their mind and want a 16fpe gun. Pretty cool stuff.

Can’t wait to see one in person.
I love the adjustable rams from Theoben. If this has a good barrel and the trigger can be made serviceable. This could be great.
Hoping it’s not finicky garbage.
Coming from break barrels a very long time ago to pcp I can't and won't go back. Should be on the shelves in Walmart , Academy sports , Bass pro for kids. The last break barrel I bought was a Gamo Magnum Gen 3. It's just collecting dust in the vault.. Very powerful for a break barrel but Jesus, the amount breaking force needed is like working out at the gym.lol It is pretty ugly to me but i f it performs for many thats enough.

Oh, so you don't have to use the pump for every shot. It just sets a baseline pressure. Cool.

I would have enjoyed the video more if it included a demo.
