Hi all, Just wondering what everyone is using target wise to zero their Thermal Scopes, Cheers from down-under.

Since the thermal will show temperature differences I use a baggy of ice stapled to my target backing in the summer or as mentioned a square of aluminum foil. In winter I use a hand warmer packet.

I like smaller aim points a alumnumin roofing nail stuck in some cardboard works well. I warm it up a bit with a lighter, doesnt take much heat. I can see impacts glow hot on the target long enough to make adjustments with my THOR LT

I take tin foil and fold into 1/2" strips and make a cross on a box. The tin foil stands out clear as day. I have found hamd warmers or anything heated starts to radiate into whats its attached to making the heated area show up bigger and i want the area as small as possible so the tin foil has worked beat for me

I heat up a small piece of solid steel with the propane torch. It glows for a good long sighting session.

I've never done it, but you could probably wrap up a button battery with aluminum foil and it should get pretty warm. You could also use those incandescent mini Christmas lights. Cut up a strand. You can run about 5 or so off of 2aa batteries for a few hours. The LED ones will run for weeks on 2 AA batteries but I don't know how hot they get. Also, if you have a phone charger that you don't mind cutting up, strip it down to expose the black and red wire in the cable. Cut the rest of them back you won't need them. The black and red wire will produce about 5 volts of direct current (DC). If you strip the ends down and tie them together they would get real hot, and anything metal that you connect them to would get pretty hot too as long as he was small enough like a penny or something. A frozen gel ice pack has worked well for me. It will show up the opposite color of what is warmer than it. Also after you shoot it a few times, it holds together better than ice. You can place the pack in another bag after putting several holes in it and keep shooting it.
