Things that cause inaccuracies on the FX Chronograph - Experiments and Results

Just quickly reviewed your post. I see that you consider the exit from the moderator to be the muzzle. I've done my own testing and have found that the exit from the moderator (your photo #1) gives ES of up to 25+ and exit from the actual muzzle of the rifle (your photo #3) drops the spread to about 2-5 depending on the tune. I wholeheartedly agree that placement of the FX Pocket Chronograph is key to it's accuracy and to the owner's happiness with it. That and using lithium batteries as FX recommends. Lithium batteries or an external power supply.

I think most of the bad readings come from vibrations, and obstacles like parts of moderators and such while chrono is connected to barrel. When its in optimal position it gives solid readings. Im testing different kind of option to mount it in most stable way to prevent reflections from vibrations and best cone angles so it can detect projectile close as possible. Would be awesome to have manufacturer info about max distance for radars resolution so you could have a bit info “about” what readings you having. You should give it a go without moderator so relfective edges would be eliminated and see does it help when having chrono hanging from the barrel example. Knowing exact radar cone would be a huge help also.
