Think about this before you click submit

I’ve noticed some people are quick to jump on a guy because he typed something that doesn’t make sense or incoherent, etc. I think to myself what might this person be going through that their words are not coming out right. Alzheimer’s, dementia, some other mental disorder causing cognitive decline. You never know what the man behind the keyboard is going through. Don’t be so quick to throw the stone, because someday the stone might be cast your way. Few people are impervious to the disorders that afflict us as we age. Enjoy your days of a clear mind and may those days last as long as your heart beats

It could also be that English is not a person's primary language.

Okay, I admit that I grew up around parents that always said use proper spelling and structure.

In my early years of school this was especially difficult for me because though I was advanced in math and sciences, I lagged in reading and writing. To this day there are some common words I can never seem to correctly spell.

However, I do read what people have said or listen to what they said, and my brain thinks, " why did they use such a word that way?, it should have been "this or that". Also, I have lived overseas in Europe and I have at the same time hear non-native English speakers mess up on work context or tense, or inflection. As long as I understand what they are saying I let it slide. Also, I can't be a hypocrite, I speak two other languages, Danish and German and I am always making mistakes.

What I have more issues with is native English speakers always messing up and criticize others who don't speak English as their native language. Also, for the Americans, it is called ENGLISH not American, there is no language called American other than "American ENGLISH." Also, if YOU can't speak in fluently in someone else's native tongue perfectly don't criticize their English, however, it is fair to ask for clarification if you don't understand what they are saying. ALSO, folk is it is BACKYARD, not back yard, that means back of the yard not the name of the location of the yard in the back of the house.

I for one suffered one too many head injuries, the last black ice header was a three month treatment learning how to walk again. It took two years to be able to read and actually understand anything. That is why I hardly ever post here. A new found difficulty trying to get the words from my head to the keyboard in correct order makes my writing a little incomprehensible at best.
thanks in advance for your patience with us

I have a bit of brain damage myself from being beat over the head with a pipe or similar item some years back. Nearly killed me he did but I am tough and the EMTs were only a minute or two away. I have to edit my posts often as I spell things wrong or put words in the wrong order or omit them completely. Not much I can do about it but say when I am done it looks right to me then go back and correct it later again and again. Word helps allot it would be rough without it. ;^)

Oh dna msot fo our bairns wlil starigthen thigsn otu alosmst as fsat as yuo cna raed it.

I am old.

English is a #2 language to me.

I tend to add too much information to my posts at times.

I am world class in going off topic. ( no i am not a politician )

Trust me the last 2 items, i am acutely aware of this and i am working hard on it, if i did not, trust me it would be much - much worse.

I have never called admin on any forum unless it is blatant spam, if i have a problem with a persons post i will politely approach the person in private.before i do anything else.

People are welcome to do the same to me, i am not in this world to step on very many peoples toes.

I've chemo brain. I quit working live electricity the day I realized that chemotherapy damaged enough of my synapses in my brain to make me dangerous to myself and others. I read over my posts too several times and correct things then post only too see I wasn't as clear as I intended. Love spell check. Now my wife is going through chemo. 5'3" 110 lbs, they removed 2 softball tumors, her ovaries etc. Now it's a matter of waiting and see. Simply there are many reasons people cannot post as well as they would like too. So for me their posts are like a jigsaw puzzle to work through. And for me to post as clearly as I can.

And I respect you for that, GB sir.

What I find distasteful are posts filled with restricted words—you know, gents who act rugged and profane it reminds me of mid and high students and their infantile ways.

Posting is analogous to having table manners and basic social protocol, IMHO.

Mitch,

we're glad to have you. I hope to read more from you in the future!

It takes courage to put your words out there for all to see (and criticize).
