Think I found the perfect scope for my BSA Ultra

Was using a Hawke 2-7x32 but it's a little short on magnification for my eyes, and it had to be a little higher on the rail for the A/O to clear the shroud. In addition it was always a pain to hold the gun up with my left hand on pistol grip and adjust the bell with my right. Decided I needed a side wheel scope that would also clear the mag well. Enter the UTG 10x44. With etched reticle and 1/2 mildots it fits perfect with my millet rings. I use these as the BSA rail is slightly wider then other guns and regular rings are off to one side. These rings tighten to rail on both sides. I just center the reticle left/right inside the scope, and "try" to center the rings on the rail. Then use the mounting screws to move the scope left or right to get it sighted in.

This scope is real clear with a nice reticle for squirrel hunting. The bell of scope clears the receiver by about 1/32". It is so much easier to shoulder the gun, hold the forearm with my right hand and use my left hand to adjust the side wheel.

Best of all - scope was $95 delivered and the wheel was $14.

Thanks! It's pretty much a "home built" unit. I had a guy who makes LDC's drill/tap me 3 delrin bushings to fit my barrel and the CF tube (sure wish I had a lathe). The shroud extends about 4" beyond the barrel. I then drilled the center bushing so the shroud would be back vented too and I made some internals. Sounds as quiet as my NC LDC only it's about 4" shorter OAL.

It's just a tad over 36" long. It's a .25 that I regged and tuned for 16 shots (2 mags) at 28fpe. Without the reg it would do 30-34fpe (depending on pellet) for 16 shots w/i 4% velocity spread.
