Benjamin Thinking of getting a Benjamin Discovery to tinker with.

Hard for me to say, I never thought the pumps where worth the price but the rifle should go for $300 nib
I figured so much. I paid $300 for the package, and I want the pump as a back up. I can buy a pump new for $50, so that is basically what it is worth to me. I will probably just keep it as I don't own any other .177 caliber.

Can you believe this rifle leaks? I want to weigh the individual parts and file the specs in my airgun files. An aluminum breech saves a surprising amount of weight, but I forgot to file the info properly, so I must weigh again. I really like a lightweight rifle. Pyramid Air has 600mm .25 caliber DRS synthetic stocked rifles (refurbished) for around $845. and I already blew through all of my Christmas money.:( As it is, The Discovery, scoped, weighs 6 lbs., 4.3 oz. this would be very similar to the DRS.

Yes!
But there are probably more O-rings in your kitchen faucet than in the entire Disco
Exactly why I like this rifle. Three internal O-rings, and one on probe. One seal on transfer port. simple design and simple repair. The parts support that still exists is great. I will try to fit the Buck-Rail silencer adaptor made for the 3622. , to see if that is an option. too tired tonight to test though. Addendum: forgot about the gauge tube O-rings, so five internal O-rings. still thinking of my Crosman 3622.

Check the gauge port o-ring. Common issue, especially if it sat NIB this long. Can you post the serial number? We can find out how old it is!

I've built far too many disco/22xx guns. I have a couple always on a back burner somewhere.

I just bought two rifles. I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I bought them both. One new, one used. Where is the serial number located?

For all you folks thinking about or actually working on Benjamin Discovery rifles, I have a suggestion.
Try posting (or cross posting) on GTA (Gateway to Airguns)
My suspicion is that lots of folks over there were members when the Disco hit the scene and when they were popular to work on and modify.
And if prodded will have a good knowledge to offer
To the more wary of you, just rest easy.
This is not an attempt to kidnap AGN members and lock them in the basement at GTA
With or without pizza

Ok, taking some advice, I am going to get a hammer spring adjuster. I am guessing that if it fits a 2240, it will fit a Discovery. Is this correct? Right now I am eyeballing this one.

My guess is that there are hundreds upon hundreds of rabbit holes that started with a Disco?

just my c'mon sense

I am pretty sure that as soon as you get two Crosmans, they start breeding. Just like rabbits. I have seven now and one is pregnant. they also can crossbreed easily with Benjamins.

Let them have at it until you are overrun with Discos
Then simply tie the tubes on the males.

Finally got my Discovery back together. I ported the valve. Radiused the inlet hole and exhaust. I opened up the valve and barrel to .177" and installed a .177" transfer port. I put in a Huma regulator and plenum. Now it has no gauge, just like my 3622 Crosman. After tuning, it gets 23, 31ft/lb shots with a 3,000 PSI fill. Crosman 14.3 domed pellets fly at about 980 FPS. They are grouping at about .4" at 12 yards. I will test them at distance during warmer weather.
