This golfball thing is a workout.

I was upstate at my getaway for 3 days of shooting. i have a range of about 120 yards. About 60 yards of it i had to clear a few weeks ago. What a mess. Now with this golfball challenge i was back out clearing more of the woods to make it to 150 yards. Well i did it but it wasn't easy. Had to cut out a path another 30 or 40 yards further than the pic shows. I have to shoot/weave through trees to hit 150. I ordered the balls for the next trip. I was able to hit regular golfballs at 100 to 105 yards pretty easily when the wind slowed down. But I'm out of mil dots at 100 yards. (12 power Hawke scope.) To hit a 6 inch stainless dog bowl at 150 yards i was just estimating with the solid line under the mil dots. I actually had to trim some branches at 65 yards that were 15 feet up to reach the target. Gonna be hard. How do i tell the wife i need a better scope to hit a golfball filled with powder so i can get a 2 dollar patch? (Shooting 25 condor ss with 33.95 JSB Kings at 870 fps)

Jealous. I just don't have access to 150 yards at the moment. Not worth a 90 minute drive to get into the desert to shoot, too much else going on right now to take much time at the range either. I think they will let me on the 300 yard range but it may take some talking. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to play on this one.

I did shim a scope for longer ranges last week. Seemed like an excellent use for an old collar stay (you know those plastic things that keep dress shirt collars flat.) One stay was just perfect for 75 yards to be about centered in the scope. Adjustable rings would be nicer, but it was free.

Good luck, i get the feeling that the pool of entries for the Impact will be relatively small as the number of people that have access to 150 and can hit a golf ball at 150 is relatively small. Keep at it!

Nice shooting lane and like douger said get some FX rings, think there about 75.00 bucks, I'm thinking I need to buy a set also,my Marauder .25 is only zero'd in at 50 yards with 25,39 JSB's and I had to hold over about 20" to hit the 10 spot at 100 yards. I'm not sure if I want to use my Hatsan Bullboss .25 or my Marauder .25 for this challenge so I haven't done a true 100 yard zero with either gun/scope combo yet.

yip I bought 2 sets of fx no limit mounts. 1 inch and 30 mil. 2 of the best things u can get for your air gun,
​going cheap isn't an option when u love this sport and or when u need to reach out there for long range.

If you want to shoot at 150 yards, download Chairgun Pro for your phone or tablet. It'll give the drop for 150 yards.

​It says if you are zeroed at 50, and want to shoot 150 for the golf ball contest, and your speed is 830 FPS, it's a 58 inch drop. Add another 40 inches to go the extra 50 yards.
